ABSENTEE VOTING BEGINS SEPTEMBER 18, 2020

The Roseau County Auditor’s Office has absentee ballots available for the November 3, 2020 General Election and encourages voters to apply early. Roseau County residents may vote by absentee ballot if they are unable to vote in person on November 3, 2020. The status of your absentee ballot can be checked at www.mnvotes.org.

The following voting options are available:

Vote in person at the County Auditor’s Office in the Roseau County Courthouse

  • The courthouse is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours on Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Monday, November 2, until 5 p.m.

To request a ballot by mail

  • Complete an Absentee Ballot Application
    • Call: 218-463-1282
    • Email: Elections@co.roseau.mn.us
    • Online: Apply online at www.co.roseau.mn.us
    • Download: Absentee Ballot Applications can be printed from www.co.roseau.mn.us and returned to the Roseau County Auditor’s Office
  • Ballot will be mailed upon receipt of the completed application
  • Ballot must be returned to the County Auditor’s Office in person by 3:00 p.m. on November 3, 2020 or delivered to County Auditor’s Office via U.S. mail or package delivery service by 8:00 p.m. on November 3, 2020 – remember to allow 5-7 days for delivery

To request a ballot through Agent Delivery: If you live in a nursing home, residential treatment center, group home or battered women’s shelter, hospitalized or unable to go to the polling place due to incapacitating health reasons or a disability

  • Complete an Absentee Ballot Application and a Request for Agent Delivery Form
  • Agents must be 18 years old and have a pre-existing relationship with the voter and cannot be a candidate
  • Give the agent the completed absentee ballot application and request for agent delivery of absentee ballot form
  • Agent picks up the ballot anytime starting seven (7) days before the election through 2 p.m. on November 3, 2020
  • The agent or someone else you designate must return completed ballots by 3 p.m. on November 3, 2020

You may also return the absentee ballot by U.S. mail or package delivery service; the ballot must be received by election officials on or before November 3, 2020
