Roseau County has 107 Positive Cases; with 3 new cases reported today; 23 ACTIVE Cases; 84 having recovered (out of isolation).
The World Health Organization says that a 14-day positive test rate of below 5 percent is the key to keeping businesses open.
Wednesday’s update includes 513 new positive tests for the coronavirus, 51 of which have been removed for an official count of 462 cases. Those positives are the result of 4,525 people tested, creating a 24-hour reporting period test positivity rate of 10.21%.
The positive test rate is lower from the perspective when the number of individuals producing positive tests (462) divided by total completed tests (9,910). In that case, the positivity rate is 4.66%.
The “tests completed” number is always higher than the “people tested” metric because some people get tested multiple times and those who test positive are only counted once, so it produces a less accurate positivity rate.
The test positivity rate over a 7-day average, based on total number of people tested, according to Johns Hopkins University, was 8.14% as of Tuesday. Anything over 5% can indicate more aggressive community transmission, MDH officials say.
Statewide:
- Total tests: 1,743,611 (up from 1,733,292)
- People tested: 1,252,392 (up from 1,247,867)
- Positive cases: 85,813 (up from 85,351)
- Deaths: 1,933 (up from 1,927)
- Currently hospitalized: 244 (up from 238)
- Patients in intensive care: 136 (up from 131)
- Patients no longer requiring isolation: 79,583 (up from 78,953)
The state’s hospitals have a maximum capacity of 2,182 ICU beds. As of Sept. 16 data from the MDH, 47.9% (1,046) are occupied (136 of the 1,046 being COVID-19 patients).
