THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, LAST WEEK, SET MEETING DATES FOR LATER THIS MONTH ON NEXT YEAR’S BUDGET.

THE CITY FACES A TWO-POINT-ONE MILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT, ESPECIALLY DUE TO SEVERAL PLANNED CAPITAL PROJECTS; BUT THAT DEFICIT COULD BE REDUCED BY ABOUT ONE-POINT-SEVEN MILLION IF THE CITY TAKES A TEN YEAR LOAN AT THREE PERCENT INTEREST FOR THOSE PROJECTS.

 

ROSEAU AND WARROAD SCHOOLS ARE STILL LOOKING FOR MATH AND READING TUTORS FOR THE CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR.

NATIONALLY, FIFTEEN RURAL HOSPITALS IN THE U.S. HAVE CLOSED THIS YEAR, AND MANY OTHERS ARE IN A CASH CRUNCH.

 

THE WOMENS FOUNDATION OF MINNESOTA IS INVITING YOUNG WOMEN BETWEEN AGES SIXTEEN AND TWENTY-FOUR TO APPLY FOR THE YOUNG WOMENS CABINET OF THE YOUNG WOMENS INITIATIVE OF MINNESOTA.

MINNESOTA GOVERNOR TIM WALZ HAS AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FOR FIVE COUNTIES THAT SUSTAINED DAMAGE FROM HEAVY RAINS AND FLOODING IN LATE JUNE AND EARLY JULY.
THOSE COUNTIES ARE KITTSON, MORRISON, RENVILLE, LeSUEUR AND WASHINGTON.
