10/19/2020

Roseau County 203 Positive Cases; with 10 new cases reported today; 47  ACTIVE Cases; 156 having recovered (out of isolation).

Minnesota has reported a further five deaths from COVID-19 and more than 1,600 cases in the state’s Monday update.

The latest deaths all happened in individuals aged 60 or old, with four out of the five living in long-term care facilities.

There were 1,632 positive tests reported, of which five were removed for a total of 1,627 confirmed cases.

The MDH reported 22,098 diagnostic PCR tests and an additional 73 antigen tests for a total of 22,171 completed tests.

Those tests were from 12,947 people tested. As if often the case, patients are tested multiple times, so the more accurate reading for test positivity rate is based on the total number of people tested, which today is 12.5%.

The positivity rate when total cases is divided by total tests is 7.33%. Health experts say positivity rates need to be below the 5% mark to control the spread of the virus.

The five newly reported deaths pushes Minnesota’s COVID-19 death toll to 2,239, of which 1,578 have been residents of long-term care facilities.

Statewide:

  • Total tests: 2,531,998 (up from 2,509,734)
  • People tested: 1,694,265 (up from 1,681,318)
