MARVIN WINDOWS AND DOORS OF WARROAD HAS ANNOUNCED MORE THAN FIFTEEN MILLION DOLLARS ( $ 15,326,676 ) IN PROFIT SHARING FOR 2020, TO BE SHARED BY MARVIN’S 5841 EMPLOYEES.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FLOYD HAUGEN OF BADGER, FOLLOWING MINNESOTA COVID GUIDELINES, ARE THIS MORNING AT TEN AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR. BURIAL IS AT THE BADGER CITY CEMETERY.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, LAST WEEK, APPROVED SPONSORSHIP SUPPORT FOR A WARROAD EFFORT TOWARD REGIONAL PARK STATUS; AND POSSIBLE FUNDING FOR AN ENHANCED ROSEAU TO WARROAD MULTI-USE TRAIL ON THE RAILROAD CORRIDOR OWNED BY THE ROSEAU COUNTY TRAILBLAZERS.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD, LAST WEEK, RECOGNIZED RECENT DONATIONS FROM ROSEAU COUNTY FORD, LAKE COUNTRY CHEVROLET AND ADAM AND BECKIE ERDMANN.
THE BOARD ALSO ACCEPTED A TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR DONATION FROM JOHN AND PATRICIA FREEMAN FOR A PIECE OF INDUSTRIAL TECH EQUIPMENT. THEIR LATE FATHER, JOE, WAS A FORMER ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER.

 

ROSEAU SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT TOM JEROME SAYS 2020 HAS BEEN A VERY DIFFICULT YEAR,
BUT SOME GOOD THINGS HAVE COME DESPITE THE PANDEMIC.
A FORTY MILLION DOLLAR VOTER-APPROVED REFERENDUM FOR A BUILDING PROJECT AT THE ROSEAU SCHOOL.

 

THIS IS THE LAST WEEK OF ROSEAU MAYOR JEFF PELOWSKI’S TWENTY-TWO YEAR TENURE; A TIME OF SERVICE MARKED BY THE 2002 FLOOD.
PELOWSKI CHOSE NOT TO SEEK ANOTHER TERM.
STATE REPRESENTATIVE DAN FABIAN TAKES OVER AS ROSEAU’S MAYOR IN JANUARY.

 

THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC HAS APPARENTLY EXACERBATED DISPARITIES AMONG MINNESOTA KIDS.
A KIDS COUNT DATA BOOK FROM THE CHILDREN’S DEFENSE FUND/ MINNESOTA SHOWS 33% OF BLACK CHILDREN IN THE STATE LIVE IN POVERTY, COMPARED WITH JUST 6% OF WHITE KIDS.
CHILDRENS DEFENSE FUND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR BHARTI WAHI SAYS THE STATE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND CREATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR SOME OF THE PROBLEMS.
