THEY WERE LATER LOCATED AT A GAS STATION IN GRYGLA, WITH ONE VEHICLE FLEEING THE SCENE. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO HAVE FOUR OCCUPANTS, ONCE FROM GREAT BRITAIN AND THE OTHERS FROM IRELAND.
THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS SPOTTED THE FOLLOWING DAY AT A RESTAURANT IN BEMIDJI, AND THE OCCUPANTS WERE FOUND AT A NEARBY HOTEL. THEY WERE FOUND TO BE SEVEN ADDITIONAL CITIZENS OF GREAT BRITAIN AND ONE MORE FROM IRELAND. ALL WERE DETAINED FOR UNLAWFUL ENTRY INTO THE U.S.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR JOSHUA D. BROTEN OF ROSEAU WILL BE HELD SUNDAY (2 PM) AT ROSEAU BAPTIST CHURCH. VISITATION WILL BE FRIDAY (5-7 PM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU, WITH A 7:00 SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE. JOSHUA WAS 40.

THAT CAMPAIGN COMES ON THE HEELS OF A DEADLY 2021 ON MINNESOTA ROADS. SO FAR THIS YEAR, UNBELTED MOTORIST DEATHS ARE DOWN 24% FROM THIS TIME LAST YEAR.
