IT’S AIMED AT OFFERING SUPPORT AND EDUCATION TO EXPECTANT MOTHERS OF UNPLANNED PREGNANCIES TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THEIR OPTIONS, AND TO CHOOSE LIFE, AND BRING A HEALTHY BABY INTO THE WORLD.

THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE HOPING FOR IMPROVED COMMUNICATION AND MORE ACTIVE INTERVENTION FROM SCHOOL STAFF.
BILLS HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED THAT WILL REMOVE ANY OPTIONS FOR WOLF HUNTING AND TRAPPING SEASONS IN MINNESOTA. CURRENTLY, THE DNR HAS THE OPTION TO HAVE SEASONS WHEN THE ANIMAL IS NOT UNDER FEDERAL PROTECTIONS. TO THE CONTRARY, OTHER BILL HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED THAT WOULD REQUIRE THE DNR TO HOLD HUNTING SEASONS IF DE-LISTING OCCURS.

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR SHIRLEY HORNER OF WARROAD WILL HAPPEN AT THE UNION CHURCH IN WARROAD ON THURSDAY (11 AM) WITH VISITION AN HOUR PRIOR. INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT RIVERSIDE CEMEMERY IN WARROAD IN TEH SPRING. SHIRLEY WAS 91.
THE DRIVER OF TEH SEMI THAT CAUSED A FATAL 8-VEHICLE CRASH NEAR TEH GRAND FORKS INTERNATIONAL AIPROT IN TEH SUMMER OF 2021 HAS BEEN SENTENCED. IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS PLEA AGREEMENT, STEVEN PIECHOWSKI, OF FELTON, WAS GIVEN A FIVE YEAR SENTENCE BUT WILL SERVE ONLY 60 DAYS IN JAIL, WITH THE REMAINDER OF HIS 120 DAYS ON ELECTRONIC HOME MONITORING. THE MOST SERIOUS CHARGE WAS A CLASS C FELONY NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE. THE CASE SHOWS HE HAD DROPPED A LIT CIGARETTE IN THE CAB AND WAS LOOKING DOWN WHEN HE THEN CRASHED INTO VEHICLES THAT WERE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT.
