THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ROSEAU COUNTY TOWNSHIP OFFICERS IS TOMORROW EVENING AT 7 PM, HELD AT THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER.
AT A RECENT ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD MEETING, AN ANONYMOUS $2000 DONATION TO THE ROSEAU COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WAS ACCEPTED. ALSO THE BOARD AGREED ON AN AMOUNT FOR A DOWN PAYMENT ON A NEW “DIGITICKET” SYSTEM THAT WILL ALLOW FOR ALL TICKETS TO BE ENTERED INTO THE SYSTEM ELECTRONICALLY. THE STATE OF MINNESOTA IS REQUIRING THAT UPGRADE.
THE GRAND FORKS HERALD HAS A WRITE UP ON NORTHWEST MINNESOTA REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS HOPING FOR A SHIFT IN FOCUS IN THE COMING SESSIONS. THEY NOTE THAT DFL LEADERS WERE ABLE TO FAST TRACK MANY OF THEIR PRIORITIES, AND NOW HOPE THAT FOCUS CAN BE PUT ON SOME OF THEIR PRIORITIES SUCH AS PUBLIC SAFETY, EDUCATION, FLOOD RELIEF PROJECTS, FUNDING FOR SMALL AIRPORTS, AND JUST HOW TO USE THE STATE’S MASSIVE BUDGET SURPLUS.
BRAD DOKKEN WRITES THAT THE INFAMOUS “WARROAD ELK” IS NO MORE. ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO, THE LOAN ELK SHOWED UP IN AN AREA NORTH OF MARVIN’S FACTORY AND PROCEEDED TO SETUP RESIDENCE IN ROSEAU COUNTY. THE ELK WAS FOUND DEAD ON MARCH 9. STUDIES ARE BEING DONE, BUT OLD AGE IS EXPECTED, AS HE WAS WELL BEYOND THE EXPECTED LIFESPAN OF A WILD ELK.
POLARIS PROFIT SHARING TOOK PLACE JUST OVER A WEEK AGO, AND THE TOTAL WAS ANNOUNCED AS MORE THAN $10 MILLION SHARED TO THE ROSEAU TEAM.
