THE AMERICAN SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION HAS VOICED THEIR OPPOSITION TO AN AMENDMENT TO THE HOUSE AGRICULTURE APPROPRIATIONS BILL THAT ATTACKS COMMODITY CHECKOFF PROGRAMS. THE AMENDMENT IS INTRODUCED BY REPUBLICAN REPRESENTATIVE VICTORIA SPARTZ OF INDIANA. THE CHECK OFF PROVIDES A NUMBER OF SERVICES THAT AN INDIVIDUAL FARMER MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE TO PROMOTE AND SELL THEIR PRODUCT.
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS MONDAY, OFFICERS AND EMS WERE DISPATCH TO A RESIDENCE IN RURAL ROOSEVELT FOR TWO PEOPLE INJURED BY A GUNSHOT. A 17 YEAR OLD MALE WITH A GUNSHOT WOUND WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE, WHILE A 15-YEAR OLD FEMALE WAS ALSO INJURED BY THE SAME GUNSHOT. SHE WAS TRANSPORTED TO FARGO FOR HER INJURIES. THE SHERIFF STATED THERE WAS NO DANGER TO THE PUBLIC. THE INCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
DIANA NELSON AND MARY FEDICK, ARE TWO WOMEN ACCUSED OF TRAFFICKING OVER 2500 FENTANYL PILLS FROM MINNEAPOLIS TO GRAND FORKS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. BOTH ARE CHARGED WITH A CLASS A FELONY. THEIR VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER ON I-29 AND OFFICERS DISCOVERED THE LARGE AMOUNT OF PILLS IN A BAGGIE IN ONE OF THE WOMEN’S UNDERWEAR. SHE TOLD OFFICERS SHE SELLS THE PILLS TO ONE PERSON FOR $3-$5 PER PILL. THERE WAS ALSO A 1 YEAR OLD CHILD IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME.
A 13-YEAR OLD FROM WARREN HAS SHOT A TROPHY ELK WHILE HUNTING THIS PAST WEEKEND IN CARIBOU TOWNSHIP IN KITTSON COUNTY. RYKER COPP SHOT THE BULL WHILE HUNTING WITH HIS FATHER. ESTIMATES HAD IT WEIGHING 950 POUNDS, WITH AN 8X10 RACK MEASURING 390 INCHES.
FROM FILLMORE COUNTY IN SOUTHERN MINNESOTA… TWO CHILDREN WERE KILLED AND TWO OTHERS INJURED IN A CRASH THAT INVOLVED AN AMISH BUGGY AND A PASSENGER VEHICLE ON MONDAY MORNING. THE CHILDREN, WILMA AND IRMA MILLER, WERE SEVEN AND ELEVEN YEARS OLD. THE 35-YEAR OLD FEMALE DRIVER OF THE TOYOTA 4-RUNNER WAS NOT INJURED. THE CAUSE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
STARTING TODAY, THE NORLAND ROAD WILL BE CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION FOR A PROJECT THAT IS EXPECTED TO TAKE 10-14 DAYS. THEY DO NOTE THE LOST RIVER GUN RANGE WILL STILL BE ACCESSIBLE.
