A Funeral Service for Honi L. Gust of Strathcona, MN will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 1:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Gust National Cemetery.
Honi Laine Gust, 48, of Strathcona MN passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Honi Laine Gust was born October 30, 1975 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Vernon and Ruby (Folden) Gust. She grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from East Grand Forks High School in 1993. Honi married the love of her life, Jeremy Kenneth Gust on August 14, 2009 at Hayes Lake State Park by Wannaska, MN. They lived in Grand Forks, Warren and Wannaska before making their permanent home in Strathcona. They were blessed with three beautiful children: Christian, Riley and Ryder. She was blessed with an amazing Grandchild: Carter who had her wrapped around her finger before he even arrived. She was a devoted wife, cherished mother, grandmother, and beacon of light
and love to all who knew her.
Her unwavering love for her husband, three children, daughter in law and grandson defined her existence. Honi poured her heart and soul into nurturing her family, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her house was always filled with friends, family and extra kids. She loved adventure and hosting for her family and friends. Mostly 4th of July parties, trap competitions, volleyball games, four wheeling trips, and she loved camping. She loved going to the Racetrack to support Jeremy in his racing career, even though she was always too nervous to actually watch him. Their Race trailer would always be the one with fun snacks for the kids and food and beverages for the adults. Her love knew no bounds, and she selflessly dedicated herself to ensuring her family’s happiness and well-being.
Honi worked at Bobcat in Grand Forks, other part time jobs as she dedicated her time to being a full time mom. She ended her career at Farmers Coop Ag in Greenbush. She loved visiting with all the farmers when they would come in. Honi touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and infectious smile.
Though she may no longer walk beside us, Honi’s spirit will forever live on in the heart of those she loved. Her legacy of love, compassion, adventure and strength will continue to inspire us all.
We will love you to the moon and back and all the way around the race track.
She is survived by her husband Jeremy, children, Christian (Alexis) Kilbride, Greenbush, MN Ryder Gust and Riley Gust, Strathcona, MN; a very special Grandson, Carter Reese Kilbride of Greenbush, MN; Parents, Vernon and Ruby (Folden) Gust of East Grand Forks; Mother in Law Ruth (Gregerson) Gust; Sisters, Randi (Bryan) Berger, East Grand Forks, MN, Jami (Danny) Payment, Red Lake Falls, MN; Brothers, Barry Gust, Grand Forks, ND, Vernon Gust Jr., Denver, CO; Sister in Law, Ramona (Dale)
Johnston, Strathcona, MN, Sandy Gust, Emerado, ND; Brother in Laws, Jason (Carol) Gust of Wannaska, MN, Raphael Gust, Thief River Falls, MN, James (Pam) Gust, Badger, MN, Steven (Melissa) Gust, Strathcona, MN, Richard (Becky) Gust, Strathcona, MN, Stuart Gust, Strathcona, MN, and many precious nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Louis and Darlene Gust; Father in Law, James Gust; Brother, Richard Gust.
