THE ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND WITH CHURCH NIGHT ON SUNDAY, FEATURING A CONCERT FROM JASON GRAY AT 7 PM. THE FAIR PARADE IS TUESDAY, WITH LINEUP FOR PARTICIPANTS AT 4 PM AND PARADE BEGINNING AT 5:30.
THE PENNINGTON COUNTY FAIR BEGINS TODAY AND WRAPS UP SUNDAY. THEY HAVE A PARADE THIS EVENING AT 7 PM AND FIREWORKS AT DUSK. THEY HAVE COLLIN RAYE IN CONCERT TOMORROW, WITH TWO NIGHTS OF BULL RIDING TO FOLLOW AND THEN A DEMO DERBY TO FINISH.
COUNTY ROAD 126, SOUTHEAST OF ROSEAU, WILL BE CLOSED CROM COUNTY ROAD 129 TO 1/2 MILE WEST OF THE INTERSECTION WITH 126 AND 129. THE PROJECT IS FOR A BRIDGE REPLACEMENT. THAT WORKS BEGINS TODAY.
AT A JUNE LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY BOARD MEETING, THEY HAD DISCUSSIONS WITH THE PRESIDENT OF CHI LAKEWOOD HEALTH ON THE AVAILABILITY OF GUARDIAN LIFE FLIGHT SERVING LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY. THEY ADDED THAT TOPIC TO THE TABLE FOR FUTURE DISCUSSIONS.
ALL 12 BORDER BANK LOCATIONS, ALONG WITH 2 NORTHERN AG OFFICE LOCATIONS IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA, WILL BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO THEIR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS THIS FALL. THEY WILL BEGIN TAKING THOSE JULY 22.
THE FIRST UNITED LUTHERAN CHURCH IN ROSEAU HAS A GRILLED TURKEY SUPPER BEGIN SERVED TODAY. THAT CAN BE ENJOYED DINING IN, TAKING OUT, OR WITH A DRIVE THRU PICKUP. THEY’LL BEGIN SERVING AT 3:30, WITH A MEAL COST OF $15.

A Celebration of Life for Crystal Y. Byfuglien of Roseau, MN will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 4-6PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Interment will take place following the service at Concordia Cemetery.
Crystal passed away at the age of 88.
A visitation for Debra Theisen of Roseau will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
MINNESOTA POWER SAYS THAT APPROXIMATELY 1 MILLION GALLONS OF COAL-ASH WATER SPILLED NEAR A COHASSET POWER PLANT. THEY SAID THE PILL HAS BEEN CONTAINED BUT AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT DID REACH A NEARBY LAKE THAT SITS ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
