AN ARBITRATION PANEL HAS RULED IN FAVOR OF ESSENTIA IN THEIR DISPUTE WITH THE CITY OF FOSSTON. THAT MEANS THEY WILL MAINTAIN THE OPERATIONS OF THE HOSPITAL, CLINIC, ASSISTED-LIVING AND LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES IN FOSSTON ALONG WITH CLINICS IN BAGLEY AND OKLEE. FIRST CARE MEDICAL SERVICES AND FIRST CARE TASKFORCE WERE PREPARED TO TAKE OVER LOCAL GOVERNANCE OF THAT HOSPITAL IF THE DECISION HAD GONE THE OTHER WAY. THE DISPUTE RELATES TO WHAT THE CITY BELIEVES IS A BREACH IN THE CONTRACT BY NO LONGER PROVIDING LABOR AND DELIVERY SERVICES, WHICH THEY VIEWED AS AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE. THOSE SERVICES ARE NOW DIRECTED TO DETROIT LAKES.
A MAHNOMEN WOMAN IS GETTING 90 DAYS IN JAIL FOR PROVIDING ALCOHOL TO MINORS, A 15-YEAR OLD WOULD DIE FROM ALCOHOL POISONING AFTER ATTENDING THAT PARTY. DENNIS GOODWIN JR WAS FOUND UNRESPONSIVE THE NEXT DAY WITH A BLOOD ALCOHOL CONTENT OF .31.
A CASE IS ALSO STILL PENDING AGAINST THE 41-YEAR OLD HOME OWNER, WHO ALLEGEDLY ALSO PROVIDED ALCOHOL AND ALLOWED DRUG USE.
Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, Inc., will participate in the education program Viewpoint, hosted by Dennis Quaid. The piece is said to guide viewers through an in-depth look at how Tri-Valley Mobilizes state, federal, and local resources, and volunteers to create meaningful support and change for those in need. A Mass of Christian Burial for Delores M. Taus will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush from 5-7PM with a Rosary Service starting at 6:40 PM followed by a 7:00 PM prayer service. A Funeral Service for Ronni D. Peterson of Greenbush, MN will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at America Cemetery in Warroad, MN.Ronnie was 41.
