A Funeral Service for Ronald E. Larson of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 11:00AM at Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 5-7PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN.

Ron was born September 27, 1937, at Wannaska, Minnesota, to Herbert and Lillian Larson. He attended school at Wannaska and Roseau, graduating from Roseau High School in 1955. He started work with the Roseau County Highway Department in 1958, This employment was interrupted by serving in the Army from 1960-1962, being stationed in Kansas and Korea.

Ron was an avid hunter, fisherman and trap shooter – having won several trophies at various trap-shoots. He is a member of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, Ducks Unlimited and Northland Gun Range, and is a staunch hockey fan.

Ron and Delaine were married in Roseau on July 12, 1963, at the English Lutheran Church, and are blessed with a son, Royce, born August 11, 1964, now living in Moorhead. They are also blessed with daughter-in-law, Janice, and two grandsons, Jared and Tyler. Their family is their #1 “hobby”.  Ron was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Ron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Delaine; Son Royce (Janice) of Moorhead, MN; sisters-in-law, Joyce Wicklander, Nancy Bergeson; brother-in-law, Daryl Bergeson; Grandsons, Jared (Kayla) of Fergus Falls, MN, Tyler of Moorhead, MN; Great-grandchildren, Nora, Landon, and Everly; sister, Barb Roseen; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lillian Larson; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Ruby Wicklander;  sister, Hazel Knute; brothers-in-law, Leroy Roseen, Paul Wilcox, Jon Knute and Harley Wicklander; sister-in-law, Deon Wilcox.
