Harold Peterson, 78, of Middle River, MN, died Monday, July 1, 2019 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 8 in First Lutheran Church of Middle River with Pastor Rena Peterson, officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday, with a 7 PM prayer service in First Lutheran Church and one hour before services in church on Monday.
Harold Ray Peterson, the son of Egil Hilmer and Mabel Eleanor (Anderson) Peterson was born April 25, 1941 at home in Spruce Valley Township, Marshall County, MN, near Middle River, MN.
He was baptized in 1949 at Our Saviors Church in Middle River. He grew up and attended school in Middle River. In January of 1959 he married Joan Arlene Reed; they were married for several years.
Harold was once a dairy farmer. He was a retired 49er Operator in Road Construction, he owned and operated several businesses over the years and he managed the American Legion Club in Middle River for several years.
Harold loved to spend time visiting with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was known for his hearty laugh.
He is survived by special friend—Toni Donarski.
Sons—Mark (Marlene) Peterson of Middle River, Scott (Therese) Peterson of Cromwell, MN & Brian (Terri) Peterson of Newfolden, MN.
Daughters—Patty Peterson of West Yellowstone, MT and Kim (Jason) Howell of West Yellowstone, MT.
Grandchildren—Blake (Laura) Peterson, Katelyn (John) Lofgren, Diana (Jon) Blumhorst, Megan Peterson, Nicole Peterson, Douglas Peterson, Jackie (Mike) Doyle, Travis Peterson, Rachel Peterson, Hunter Howell and Hannah Howell. Great-Grandchildren—Caleb Neste, Hudson Blumhorst, Izaac Henry, Aria Doyle and Gabriella Peterson.
Sisters—Delores Larson of Albany, OR, Lois (Alden) Hylland of Grygla, MN, Mimi Cwikla of Middle River and Cheri (Fred) Nissen of Middle River, Sister-in-law—Janie Peterson of Middle River. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and very close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents—Egil and Mabel Peterson, Wife—Joan Peterson, Brother & Sister-in-law—Erick & Elaine Peterson, Brother—Larry Peterson and Brothers-in-law—Stanley Larson, Vernon Neuschwander & Alex Cwikla.
