Beverly (Bev) Storey of Warroad, MN passed away on January 1, 2025 at the Warroad Senior Living Center. Funeral services will be held on January 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran church in Warroad. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, January 7, from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad. Interment will take place at American Cemetery.
Bev was born on May 16, 1932 to Elmer and Mabel (Tollefson) Jensen. She was the 7th of 11 children. While Bev was working as a young ‘Candy Striper’ nurse in Grand Forks ND she met her future husband, George Storey when he was a patient after breaking many bones after falling several stories from a grain elevator he was helping to build. They had 6 children and 15 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Bev loved spending time with her family and had a quick wit and amazing sense of humor, along with an infectious laugh that made every time you spent with her a memorable one. George and Bev were hard woking, fun-loving and adventurous. They loved their home in Highland Park in Warroad which was a popular spot for friends and family to gather. George and Bev loved dancing, boating and snowmobiling including trips to Yellowstone National Park and other destinations. George passed away January 4, 1998. Bev will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She will now be reunited with her husband George, the love of her life. It’s not hard to imagine her catching him up on some of the great times and stories while sharing a laugh together.
Bev is survived by her children: Vicki (David) Smith/Roseau, MN, Jack (Kim) Storey/Waukee, Iowa, Bonnie (Jack) Palmquist/Warroad, MN, Mike (Mary) Storey/Fayetteville, NC, Rodney Storey/TRF,MN, Scott Storey/Roseau,MN and she’s survived by her brothers; Carlin and Mike and by sisters: Donna and Carol.
She is preceeded in death by her parents and by her brothers: Vinol, Jesse, Lloyd, John, Dale and by her sister; Mavis. Bev is also survived by George’s sisters; Lois (Marlin) Olson/Wanaska MN, Dorothy (Oliver) Jesme/Warroad, MN, Delphine Lafky/Le Center, MN and sister-in-law; Virginia Storey/Warroad, MN and by George’s brothers: Walter (Judy) Storey/Baudette, MN, and Ted (Sue) Storey/Warroad MN. George’s family that preceeded her in death are; Jack and Emma Storey, Curly and Clyde Calonica, Joy and Glen Phillipe, Jerry and Floyd Streiff, and Mae Steele, Toots and Andy Streiff, Curtis Lafky, Lester and Betty Storey.
