Billy Eugene Mosher passed away June 10, 2024, at LifeCare Manor in Greenbush, MN at the age of 90 after a short, yet brave, battle with cancer.

Bill was born December 23, 1933, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma as the oldest of seven children to parents William Mosher and Josephine (Barton) Mosher. He attended school and graduated in 1952 from Plainview Highschool in Oklahoma. After graduation in 1953, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served as a Radar Operator, Computer Programmer, and First Sergeant. He received three Air Force Commendation medals before he retired in 1973, at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.

Bill and his beloved wife, Bernice (Dohmstreich) Mosher, were married June 16, 1956. During his time of service, they traveled and lived all over the world together welcoming along the way three children; Pam, Glenn, and Greg. In 1969, they moved to Lake of the Woods County to complete his final assignment at the Baudette Air Force Station. They purchased the Baudette Montgomery Wards store in 1972 and in 1985 opened the JCPenney catalog store. Bill was committed and took pride in serving his community. He served as the long-time Mayor of Williams and together with Bea they faithfully served the community, operating their stores until 1999, when they retired.

Bill enjoyed wood working, camping, fishing, gardening, and playing cards along with supporting those he loved participating in Lake of the Woods Bears, Warroad Warriors, Ely Wolves, Roseau Rams and BGMR sports. Most of all, he loved sharing those activities with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and “Friday night” friends. He will be remembered by all who loved him for his kindness, humor, and dedicated service to our country, community, and family.
