Danny Bruce Nelson died Saturday, September 28, 2024, peacefully in his home at Warroad, MN.
A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17 at Helgeson’s Funeral Home in Warroad. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18 at Helgeson’s Funeral Home in Warroad, with a burial to follow at Silent City Cemetery in Roosevelt, MN.
Danny was born in Two Harbors, MN on May 11, 1958. He was raised on a farm in Fertile, MN by Ernest and Gladys Nelson. He graduated from Fertile-Beltrami High school in 1977. He participated in track & field, football, Future Farmers of America, 4-H, and the One Wayers youth music group.
Danny was united in marriage to Belle Landby on October 28, 1978, in Crookston, MN. Together they raised four children. The family moved to Warroad in 1987.
Danny was a devoted Christian who loved to read, be in nature, spend time with family, travel, and had a passion for all things Sci-Fi, fantasy, and paranormal.
He is survived by his wife Belle of Warroad; children, Jeremy (Jeri) Landby of Audubon, MN, Aaron (Jessica) Nelson of Lakewood, CO, Clark Nelson of Warroad, and Havie (Shawn) Lee of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Madelyn, Ashley, Bjorn, Mathias, Jonah, Clarabelle, Lincoln, and Ferris; siblings, Terry, Dennis, and Patti; and many other relatives and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; his brother Randy; his sister Betty; and numerous relatives.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Life Care Hospice, Life Care Infusion Therapy, Bucko Thompson and the Thrifty White Pharmacy team in Warroad for the compassionate care and kindness they provided.
In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting planting a tree in memory of Danny.
