A Graveside service for Dennis Brodshaug will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 2:00PM at Norland Cemetery in Salol, MN.
Dennis Leroy Brodshaug was born on February 18th, 1939 to Josephine (Overby) Brodshaug in McHenry, ND.
Dennis grew up and attended school in Pekin, ND. Dennis began farming at the age of 14.
Dennis met the love of his life Arlene (Rickford), and they married in Binford, ND on December 31st, 1971.
On the farm in the 1970’s Dennis and Arlene fostered many kids over the years. Most memorable to him were the 3 Barkley Boys, Alan, Todd and James.
Dennis owned his own farm up until around 1986 and worked for another farmer for a number of years after that. Dennis also worked at Crystal Sugar in Drayton, ND for about 6 years. Dennis moved to Warroad, MN in 1991, to begin working at Marvin Windows. Dennis retired from Marvin Windows after 27 years, in 2018 at the age of 79.
Dennis was one of the kindest and most hard-working people you have ever met. He loved to visit with his old coworkers from Marvins and share old stories from living on the farm. Dennis always had a smile on his face. If he was ever having a bad day or in pain, he never showed it. Dennis was a big believer in if you wanted something, you needed to work hard to earn it. Dennis really enjoyed helping out his children and grandchildren, by driving them to school or work after he retired.
Dennis is survived by his children: Randy (Angie) Brodshaug, Tracey (Andre Johnson) Brodshaug, Grandchildren, Dylan Quamme, Spirit Quamme, Conner Brodshaug, Lilly Quamme, Logan Brodshaug, Willow Brodshaug, Ava Johnson, Patrick Brodshaug, Mitch Lang, Dustin Lang, great-grandchild, Abigail Lang, brother-in-law, Reynold Rickford, special niece, Valarie Bear, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Arlene, their daughter, Tammy Lang, his sister, Claris Brodshaug, mother, Josephine Brodshaug.
