Evan Oniel Foster, 59, of Greenbush, Minnesota, passed away on March 25, 2024 at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau. He was born on November 12, 1964, in Roseau, Minnesota, to his parents Oniel and Wanda Foster. Evan, known for his great sense of humor and wit, cherished his family and friends deeply. His dogs held a special place in his heart, serving as his loyal companions.
Evan graduated from Badger High School in May of 1983. After Graduation, Evan went to basic training at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri and served in the Army Reserve from 1983 to 1989. Following his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career journey. Evan worked for a farmer during his high school years and later held positions at Marvin Windows, Polaris Industries, and the US Postal Service.
Evan was married to his first wife in 1987 and had three children. Evan met Lori Erickson, the love of his life while working at Polaris. They were united in marriage on June 30, 1995 and raised Heather, Amber, and Jesse together in Badger, Minnesota. They moved to Greenbush in 2012 where they made their home.
An avid fiddle player, Evan enjoyed hobbies such as hunting, fishing, trapping, and wood working. He was also known for his storytelling and his knack for sharing jokes that brought joy to those around him, just ask his dialysis nurses and friends.
Evan worshipped at the Oiland Free Lutheran Church rural Greenbush. His faith was an integral part of his life and provided him with solace and strength.
Evan is survived by his wife Lori Foster of Greenbush, MN; daughters Heather (Travis) Blumer of St Hilaire, MN and Amber Juhl of Thief River Falls, MN, son Jesse Foster of Thief River Falls, MN; Evan has three Grandchildren, Hayden and Rowen Blumer and Astaire Juhl; Siblings, Sheryl (Mark) Larson, Jody Foster, and Jeremy (Brandy) Foster; father and mother-in-law, Farrell and Anne Erickson; brother and sister-in-laws, Todd (Joyce) Erickson, Lynn (Bryan Balstad, and Scott (Tina) Erickson; cousin/brother Jamie (Jackie) Foster.
Evan is preceded in death by his father Oniel Foster, mother Wanda Undeberg, step father Dwayne Undeberg, and step daughter Kristie.
A Memorial Service for Evan Foster will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Oiland Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush at 11:00 am with a visitation an hour prior. A visitation will also take place the night before at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm.
