Funeral services for Floyd Morey of Wannaska, MN will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 10 AM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery.
Floyd Marvin Morey, of Wannaska, MN, passed away on May 4, 2021 at LifeCare Greenbush Manor at the age of 87.
Floyd was born on March 24, 1934 in Thief River Falls, MN to Olava (Ecklund) and Lee William Morey. He grew up and attended country school in the Pencer area of Roseau County. He married Joan (Davidson) on November 26, 1960. In addition to his 34-year career at Polaris Industries, Floyd logged in the woods and raised a special herd of Charolias.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and trapping; and loved watching his 3 children and many grandkids! He enjoyed going to auction sales and visiting with everyone. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa.
He is survived by his wife Joan of Wannaska; children, Wayne (Deb) Morey of Wannaska, Pauline (Roger) Ignaszewski of Wannaska and Daron (Tami) Morey of Roseau; sister, Marian Loken of Wannaska; 8 grandchildren, Jessie, Tylor, Eric, Brandon, Matia, Shawntel, Bailey and Dylan; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olava and Lee; several aunts, uncles, and in-laws.
