A Celebration of Life service for Lauraine E. Olafson of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00am at Rose Free Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Moe-Rose Cemetery in Roseau, MN.

Lauraine Edel Olafson passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024 in the early morning hours at LifeCare Medical Center, Roseau, MN with her loving family and minister by her side.  Lauraine was born in Warroad, MN on February 6, 1938 to Herman and Irene (Abrahamson) Boehler.  She lived, grew up and attended school in the Warroad community, graduating in 1956. Lauraine was united in marriage to Philip Norman on June 9, 1956.  Philip suffered a brain aneurysm and passed away June 26, 1957.  Lauraine gave birth to their daughter Phyllis Irene on July 2, 1957, and they lived with her parents while Lauraine worked at Security State Bank in Warroad.  Lauraine met the second love of her life and was married to Conrad (Connie) Olafson on January 10, 1959.  He was overjoyed to not only have a wife but a daughter to love.  Their second daughter Sandra Marie was born April 20, 1960.  They lived and farmed in Malung Township until Connie had health conditions that caused them to sell their dairy cattle.  Lauraine began working at Polaris Ind. and retired after 36 years of employment, where she enjoyed making many lifelong friends.  Lauraine was very proud of her family and her grandchildren.  She loved to cook and bake, and was always entertaining friends and family.  The coffee pot was always on and a yummy baked good of some kind ready to serve.  Lauraine enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning and playing cards.  They also loved spending time at their cabin at Buffalo Point, MB.  Lauraine had a generous heart and was always there to help anyone who needed it.

Lauraine is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Lund (Gary), Sandy Harder (Steve),  four grandsons-  Todd Lund (Liz), Jarod Lund (Jen), John Harder (Allison), and Adam Harder (Sara). Eight great-grandchildren- Grace Lund, David Lund, Andrew Lund, Josie Lund, Kate Harder, Gavin Harder, Svea Harder and Mya Harder, and her sister Hazel Horner.

Lauraine was preceded in death by her husband Conrad (Connie) Olafson, baby girl Olafson, parents Herman & Irene Boehler and first husband Philip Norman.
