ALL THREE ARE REPUBLICANS THAT REPRESENT DISTRICT 1. THAT SURVEY CHARTS HOW LAWMAKERS VOTE ON ISSUES THAT ARE CONSIDERED IMPORTANT TO THE STATE’S SMALL BUSINESS ECONOMY. THE RELEASE NOTED THAT FEWER THAN HALF THE SENATE ACHIEVED A 100% SCORE.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY AUDITOR’S OFFICE IS BRINGING ATTENTION TO AN ERROR THAT OCCURRED ON BALLOTS SENT OUT IN MAIL BALLOT PRECINCTS, AND THAT REPLACEMENT BALLOTS HAVE BEEN MAILED. THE ERROR INVOLVED A QUESTION ON THE GREENBUSH-MIDDLE RIVER SCHOOL DISTRICT REFERENDUM. IF YOU RESIDE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING TOWNSHIPS, YOU WILL NEED TO USE THE REPLACEMENT BALLOT. YOUR ORIGINAL BALLOT WILL NOT COUNT. THIS INCLUDES POPLAR GROVE, SKAGEN, POHLITZ, PALMVILLE, MOOSE, LIND, HUSS, AND BARNETT TOWNSHIPS. FOR ALL OTHER LOCATIONS, EITHER BALLOT WILL COUNT. THERE IS BAJA RACING IN ST HILAIRE ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AS A FUNDRAISER FOR THE ST HILAIRE LIONS CLUB. IT’S THE 9TH YEAR THEY’VE HELD THE FUNDRAISER.
THE ONE AND ONLY PUBLIC PERFORMANCE OF THE PLAY HANSEL AND GRETEL IS THIS EVENEING AT THE ROSEAU SCHOOL THEATER. THAT IS BEING PREPARED BY STORYBOOK THEATER, WHO HAS DOZENS OF YOUNG, LOCAL CAST MEMBERS FROM THE FIRST THROUGH 12TH GRADE. COST IS $5 FOR ADULTS.
APPLICATIONS FOR CHILD CARE GRANTS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED. THESE GRANTS ARE INTENDED TO INCREASE THE AVAILABILITY OF QUILITY CHILD CARE IN THE AREA. FUNDS CAN BE USED FOR TRAINING AND TECHNOLOGY NEEDS, START-UP AND EXPANSION, FACILITY UPGRADES, AND ASSISTANCE WITH LICENSING AND OTHER REGULATROY REQUIREMENTS. PROPOSALS ARE DUE BY SEPTEMBER 16.
LIFECARE HEALTH CARE FUND GRANTS ARE ALSO OPEN UNTIL AUGUST 28, THOSE WILL SUPPORT PROJECTS THAT POSITIVELY IMPACT HEATH AND WELLNESS IN THE LIFECARE SERVICE AREA.
