LAST NIGHT A PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT WAS ISSUED BY THE ROSEAU POLICE DEPARTMENT AS THEY STATED THEY WERE ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE A DANGEROUS PERSON. THEY STATED THEIR AREA OF INCREASED POLICE PRESENCE WAS IN A 3-4 BLOCK RADIUS OF PARK PLACE APARTMENTS, EAST OF HIGHWAY 89.

FARMERS ACROSS MINNESOTA ARE STILL MAKING THEIR CASE FOR THE IMPORTANCE OF EXPANDED RURAL BROADBAND. SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS HIM HOLDING THE KNIFE CLOSE TO A 16-YEAR OLD MALE’S HEAD. MORE COURT ACTION IS JANUARY 9.

MAYO CLINIC IS SET TO INVEST $5 BILLION IN IT’S ROCHESTER FACILITY. BY 2030 THEY PLAN TO BUILD FIVE NEW DOWNTOWN BUILDINGS AND WILL HAVE 2.4 MILLION SQUARE FEET OF NEW SPACE. TWO OF THE BUILDINGS WILL BE CLINICAL, WITH A POSSIBLE INCREASE OF 306 BEDS.

YESTERDAY, GOVERNOR WALZ VISITED THE SHAKOPEE MDEWAKANTON SIOUX COMMUNITY, MAKING HIM THE FIRST GOVERNOR EVER TO VISIT ALL 11 TRIBAL NATIONS IN MINNESOTA DURING HIS TENURE. HE VISITED WITH TRIBAL LEADERS TO LEARN ABOUT THEIR PRIORITIES.

THIS WEEK, REPRESENTATIVE MICHELLE FISHBACH REINTRODUCED THE LAW ENFORCEMENT EDUCATION GRANT PROGRAM ACT WITH REPRESENTATIVES PETE STAUBER AND REPRESENTATIVE CLAY HIGGINS OF LOUISIANA. THE BILL VERY SIMPLY WOULD PROVIDE EDUCATION GRANTS TO STUDENTS PURSUING THEIR FIRST DEGREE IN A LAW ENFORCEMENT OR CRIMINAL JUSTICE RELATED FIELD.
