PRODUCTION AT ARCTIC CAT IN THIEF RIVER FALLS AND IN ST CLOUD WILL BE INDEFINITELY SUSPENDED BY MID-2025. THEY WILL RESUME PRODUCTION IN EARLY 2025 TO COMPLETE STANDING ORDERS, BUT THOSE ARE ARE FULFILLED, PRODUCTION WILL NOT CARRY ON ANY FURTHER. ALL EMPLOYEES AT THE LOCATIONS WILL BE RELEASED. IN THE MEANTIME, TEXTRON WILL BE EXPLORING STRATEGIC ALTERNATIVES. ARCTIC CAT WILL REMAIN IN BUSINESS, SELLING CURRENT INVENTORY AND PROVIDING AFTERMARKET SUPPORT. A LITTLE OVER 500 WORKERS WILL BE AFFECTED AT THE THIEF RIVER FALLS PLANT ALONE.

IN THE ONGOING DISPUTE BETWEEN THE CITY OF FOSSTON AND ESSENTIA HEALTH OVER HOSPITAL OPERATIONS, THE CITY HAS ELECTED TO TERMINATE THE 2009 AFFILIATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN IT, FIRST CARE MEDICAL SERVICES AND ESSENTIA. ESSENTIA SAYS THE CITY HAS NO AUTHORITY TO DO SO, SAYING THEY CAN ONLY OPT OUT OF THE AGREEMENT, WHICH WOULD STILL LEAVE OPERATIONAL DECISIONS TO ESSENTIA. THE CITY OF FOSSTON HAD AUTHORIZED THEIR LEGAL TEAM TO BEGIN PROCEEDINGS AGAINST ESSENTIA IF THEY DISAGREED. THIS ALL REVOLVES AROUND THE DECISION TO NO LONGER OFFER LABOR AND DELIVERY SERVICES AT THE HOSPITAL, WHICH IN SEPTEMBER, AN ARBITRATION BOARD SIDED WITH ESSENTIA SAYING THOSE ARE NOT CORE SERVICES. THOSE SERVICES ARE BEING SENT TO DETROIT LAKES.

Wally W. Beyer 85, of Baudette, MN passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. A funeral service will be held at First Lutheran Church, Baudette on Friday, December 20th at 11 am.

TWO PEOPLE WERE FOUND DEAD INSIDE A VEHICLE ON THE TOP LEVEL OF THE PARKING RAMP AT DULUTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT YESTERDAY. AUTHORITIES HAD ALREADY BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE OWNER OF THAT VEHICLE ON NEWS THAT HE MAY HAVE BEEN A DANGER TO HIMSELF. THEIR IDENTITIES WERE NOT MADE PUBLIC, THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS NOT REVEALED, AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL DANGER TO THE PUBLIC.
