AT THE NORTHWEST ANGLE FISHING IS STRONG AND THE ICE ROAD FROM JERRY’S ON THE MAINLAND TO THE ISLAND RESORTS IN GOOD SHAPE.
THE ROSEAU CIVIC AND COMMERCE WILL HOLD THEIR ANNUAL BANQUET ON MONDAY AT THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER. A SOCIAL HOUR AND MEAL BEGIN AT 5:30, BEFORE PRESENTATIONS AND THE ELECTION OF NEW BOARD MEMBERS.

THERE IS A CARDBOARD SLED RACE EVENT AT THE MALUNG COMMUNITY CENTER ON SUNDAY, WITH REGISTRATION AT 1:00. THE EVENT IS FREE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS.
NOROVIRUS HAS BEEN PARTICULARLY NASTY THIS YEAR. IN DECEMBER THEY TRACKED AN ESTIMATED 76 OUTBREAKS, WITH EACH HAVING A MINIMUM OF 1500 INDIVIDUAL CASES. SO FAR IN JANUARY, THEY HAVE ALREADY TRACKED 26 OUTBREAKS. SOMETIMES CALLED THE WINTER VOMITING BUG, IT’S NOT EASY TO GET RID OF. A PERSON WILL OFTEN REMAIN CONTAGIOUS FOR THREE DAYS AFTER THE FINAL SYMPTOMS DISAPPEAR.
THE ROSEAU COUNTY MUSEUM ALONG WITH THE ROSEAU PUBLIC LIBRARY WILL HOLD TEDDY BEAR TEA ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND, A FREE EVENT FOR ALL AGES. ENJOY TEA/JUICE, BITE SIZED TREATS, CRAFTS, GAMES AND MORE WITH FRIENDS AND YOUR FAVORITE STUFFED FRIEND. THAT IS FROM 2-3 IN THE AFTERNOON.
A funeral service for Eleanor M. Snow will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2pm at Pine Grove Lutheran Church of Wannaska, MN. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church, Interment will be held at Falun Cemetery at a later date.
Eleanor Snow passed away at the age of 102.
A SERVICE TO CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF DARRYL BOUTAIN OF ROSEAU WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22 AT JOHNSON FUNERAL SERVICE IN THIEF RIVER FALLS. THE SERVICE WILL BEGIN AT 11:00 WITH VISITATION STARTING AN HOUR PRIOR. DARRYL WAS 52.
A Memorial Service for Mark M. Emery of Greenbush, MN will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00AM at United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5-7PM with a prayer service at 7PM at United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush, MN. Interment will take place at Bethel Cemetery.

A Memorial Service for Erling S. Olson of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11:00am at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau, MN. Interment will take place at a later date.
Erling Olson passed away at the age of 82.
