The Department of Natural Resources has Expanded restrictions on open burning to an area that includes much of northwest Minnesota as warm, dry weather spreads throughout the state. Kittson, Lake of the Woods, Red Lake, Roseau counties are among the ones added to the restricted area beginning today. The DNR will not issue permits for the open burning of brush or yard waste in these counties until restrictions are lifted.

A FOLLOW UP TO EARLIER IN THE WEEK, WHERE A CLIENT AT THE MINNESOTA SEX OFFENDER PROGRAM IN MOOSE LAKE HAS NOW BEEN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER AN ATTACK ON AN EMPLOYEE ON MONDAY. 29–YEAR OLD NICOLAS LADELL ARON-JONES HAS AT LEAST FIVE PRIOR FELONY CONVICTIONS FOR ASSAULTING STAFF, MAKING THREATS OR DAMAGING PROPERTY. THE EMPLOYEE WAS HIT IN THE HEAD WITH A HEAVY OBJECT AND THEN WAS STOMPED ON REPEATEDLY BY ARON-JONES. THE AGENCY IS NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE AN UPDATE ON HIS CONDITION.
