A PLANNED CHILDCARE CENTER IN GREENBUSH GOT A BIG BOOST RECENTLY WHEN IT WAS AWARDED $1 MILLION IN CONGRESSIONAL MONEY TO HELP BRING THAT RURAL CHILDCARE PROGRAM INTO REALITY. ‘LIL CHOMPERS CHILDCARE CAN NOW MOVE FORWARD WITH ADDITIONAL PLANNING ON WHAT WOULD BE A CENTER FOR APPROXIMATELY TO CHILDREN, WITH TWO INFANT ROOMS, A TODDLER ROOM, A 3-4 YEAR OLD, AND 5-6 YEAR OLD CLASSROOM. IN TOTAL, IT’S A $1.75 MILLION PROJECT.
A LENGTHY AND LARGE SCALE ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT WILL BEGIN ON HIGHWAY 11 IN WARROAD BEGINNING MAY 13. THE PROJECT INCLUDES RESURFACING OF HIGHWAY 11, SIDEWALK UPGRADES, AND INSTALLING A ROUNDABOUT AT HIGHWAYS 11 AND 313. EXPECT LANE CLOSURES AND DELAYS AND TRUCK TRAFFIC WILL BE DETOURED USING COUNTY ROADS 9 AND 12. THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO GO THROUGH OCTOBER AND RESUME IN THE SPRING OF 2025. THERE IS A PUBLIC MEETING ON APRIL 23 AT WARROAD CITY HALL FROM 5-6 PM.
THERE IS A DATE THIS SATURDAY, APRIL 27, FOR HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION IN WARROAD. MATERIALS CAN BE DROPPED OFF AT THE WARROAD CITY SHOP FROM 9:00-NOON.
LAST NIGHT, THREE LOCAL ARTISTS WERE RECOGNIZED AT THE AWARDS BANQUET FOR THE NORTHWEST MINNESOTA ARTS COUNCIL. THOSE WERE BETSY SAURDIFF OF GRYGLA FOR A LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, ROM OGAARD AS AN ARTS ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR, AND MUSICIAN RANDY LARSON FOR ARTIST OF THE YEAR.
THE ROSEAU-LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY SOYBEAN GROWERS WISH TO REMIND EVERYONE TO BE CAUTIOUS ON ROADWAYS AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR WHERE YOU WILL SEE MORE AND MORE FARM EQUIPMENT SHARING THE ROADWAYS, MOVING FROM FIELD TO FIELD.
THE ROSEAU COUNTY TOWNSHIP OFFICERS WILL HOLD THEIR ANNUAL MEETING TOMORROW EVENING AT 7:00 AT THE ROSEAU EVENT CENTER.

A Memorial Service for Oscar Maus of Baudette, MN will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 2:00PM at Wabanica Lutheran Church in Baudette, MN. Interment will take place at Wabanica Cemetery.
Oscar passed away at the age of 96.
A funeral service for Gloria Manning will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Faith Lutheran Church in Badger at 2:00 pm with a visitation an hour prior. A visitation will also take place the night before, April 23, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date at Nannestad Cemetery.
