A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD MALE WAS INJURED IN A TWO VEHICLE CRASH YESTERDAY AT ABOUT 5:30 P.M. ON HIGHWAY ELEVEN AT THE INTERSECTION WITH KOOCHICHING COUNTY ROAD 9.
THE SIXTEEN YEAR OLD APPARENTLY FAILED TO STOP AT THE INTERSECTION, AND WAS STRUCK BY A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY 64 YEAR OLD JAMES DUNN, JR OF BAUDETTE.
DUNN AND HIS PASSENGER, 63 YEAR OLD CYNTHIA DUNN, WERE NOT HURT.
THE OTHER DRIVER WAS TAKEN TO RAINY LAKE MEDICAL CENTER IN INTERNATIONAL FALLS.

 

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR JAY GARTHUS OF HOLT IS THIS MORNING AT ELEVEN AT NAZARETH LUTHERAN CHURCH IN HOLT. VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR. BURIAL IS AT THE HOLT CEMETERY.
JAY GARTHUS WAS 84.

THERE WILL BE SHORT-TERM DELAYS AND LANE SHIFTS FOR MOTORISTS ON HIGHWAY ELEVEN NEAR INDUS, STARTING TODAY, AS A ROAD REPAIR PROJECTS GETS UNDERWAY.

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, LAST WEEK, HEARD THAT NORTHWEST COMMUNITY ACTION IS MOVING FORWARD ON CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW HOUSE IN ROSEAU.
SHANE LARSEN’S HIGH SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION CLASS WILL PROVIDE THE LABOR FOR THAT HOME ON 5TH AVENUE NORTHEAST.
ROSEAU COUNTY DEEDED THE TAX-FORFEITED PARCEL TO THE CITY LAST MONTH.

 

MENTALIST AND MAGICIAN NOAH SONIE PERFORMS AT THE ROSEAU PUBLIC LIBRARY THIS MORNING (10 A.M.); AFTER WHICH THE LIBRARY HAS IT’S SUMMER READING GRAND PRIZE DRAWINGS.

 

POLARIS HAS A 65TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION THIS WEEKEND IN ROSEAU.
DAVID LEE SAYS A NUMBER OF FORMER POLARIS RACERS WILL BE SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS.
LEE (AND OTHERS) HAVE ORGANIZED A SATURDAY DISPLAY OF VINTAGE POLARIS MACHINES AT ROSEAU’S MEMORIAL ARENA.
A POLARIS PARADE IS SATURDAY MORNING.

 

WARROAD’S JOLEEN AND SCOTT KEZAR LOST THEIR HOME TO A FIRE EARLIER THIS YEAR, AND AMONG THE ITEMS DESTROYED IN THE BLAZE WAS A BASEBALL AUTOGRAPHED BY FORMER MINNESOTA TWIN DAN GLADDEN.
LAST WEEK, THE KEZAR’S RECEIVED A REPLACEMENT SIGNED BASEBALL FROM THE TWINS’ RADIO BROADCASTER, ALONG WITH A FRAMED DAN GLADDEN JERSEY.
