FROM THE ROSEAU TIMES REGION, 41-YEAR OLD SHAUNA DOKKEN OF ROSEAU WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH FELONY SECOND-DEGREE ASSAULT AND MISDEMEANOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT. THE EVENTS TOOK PLACE NOVEMBER 23RD WHERE A MAN REPORTED THAT SHE HAD THROWN AN ICE SKATE AT HIM LEADING TO A CUT ON HIS HEAD.
NORTHWEST COMMUNITY ACTION’S HEAD START GIVING TREE PROJECT IS UNDERWAY. THROUGH THE PROGRAM, THEY LOOK TO HELP 390 CHILDREN IN THEIR FOUR COUNTY SERVICE AREA RECEIVE CHRISTMAS GIFTS THIS YEAR. AT 11 LOCATIONS, INCLUDING POLARIS, BORDER BANK, ALTRU CLINIC, RONNINGS AND CITIZENS STATE BANK IN ROSEAU, YOU CAN SELECT A TAG OFF THE TREE THAT HAS A CHILD’S AGE AND GENDER AND THEIR GIFT WISH. A DEADLINE TO RETURN THAT GIFT TO THE BUSINESS IS DECEMBER 13.
A CHEERLEADING PROGRAM IS BACK FOR THE ROSEAU SCHOOL, BUT IS BEING OFFERED THROUGH THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM. IT’S OPEN TO THOSE IN 7-12 GRADES. REGISTRATION IS FREE, BUT EACH PARTICIPANT WILL BEAR THE COST OF THE UNIFORM. THERE IS PRACTICE TIME THREE DAYS A WEEK. ODESSA JONES IS THE CHEER CAPTIAN.
THE ROSEAU PUBLIC LIBRARY WILL CELEBRATE AN 85TH BIRTHDAY WITH AN OPEN HOUSE THIS THURSDAY FROM 3-7 PM. THEY’LL HAVE CRAFT MAKING, COOKIES, COFFEE, AND HOT COCOA. YOU CAN SIGN UP TO WIN DOOR PRIZES.
A GIFTS OF GIVING EVENT IS TODAY AT THE CITY CENTER FROM 1-8 PM. KIDS CAN PURCHASE DONATED ITEMS FOR JUST FIFTY CENTS AS GIFTS FOR FAMILY MEMBERS.
