A 23-YEAR OLD MAN DIED SATURDAY AFTER HE LOST CONTROL OF HIS 2021 CAN AM MAVERICK OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE NEAR AKELEY. AUTHORITIES WERE NOT AWARE OF, AND DID NOT RESPOND TO THE CRASH UNTIL 10:30 AM, BUT THE INVESTIGATION SHOWS THE CRASH LIKELY HAPPENED SOMETIME AFTER MIDNIGHT.
A ST. CLOUD WOMAN DIED IN A 2-VEHICLE ACCIDENT SATURDAY, NEAR HIGHWAY 371 IN PEQUOT LAKES. 88-YEAR OLD ANITA HALLER WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE AND HER PASSENGER, 21-YEAR OLD TYLER HALLER HAD LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AND WAS AIRLIFTED TO DULUTH. THE OTHER VEHICLE’S DRIVER SUFFERED NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES, BUT HIS PASSENGER WAS ALSO AIRLIFTED TO DULUTH.
THE REMOTE BORDER CROSSING PROGRAM IS SET TO RESUME IN THE COMING DAYS.
