POLARIS AND BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY HAVE ANNOUNCED A PARTNERSHIP TO ALLOW FOR THE OPPORTUNITY OF INTERNSHIPS TO EARN COLLEGE CREDITS. THE POLARIS MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM COULD EARN SOMEONE UP TO 30 COLLEGE CREDITS AT BSU. HOUSING WOULD BE PROVIDED AND TUITION WAIVED BY POLARIS ROSEAU. STUDENTS CAN APPLY ONLINE. THOSE POSITIONS START IN MID-AUGUST.
AN OAKCREST COULEE WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN THIS MONTH, DEPENDENT UPON WEATHER AND CONDITIONS. THAT PROJECT WILL IMPROVE WATER QUALITY RUNOFF WITHIN THE OAK CREST SUBDIVISION AND THE DEVELOPMENT AREA ADJACENT TO THE GOLF COURSE. IT IS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE DRAINAGE, LESSEN UNDESIRABLE VEGETATION, AND REDUCE RUNOFF INTO THE ROSEAU RIVER.
THE JOHNSON FAMILY, CAROL AND EARL JOHNSON, HAVE BEEN NAMED ROSEAU COUNTY’S FARM FAMILY OF THE YEAR BY THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AND WILL BE RECOGNIZED DURING A CEREMONY AT FARMFEST ON AUGUST 8.
JEAN PEDERSON OF ROSEAU AND ON TVEIT OF WARROAD HAVE BEEN NAMED ROSEAU COUNTY’S SENIOR CITIZEN VOLUNTEER AWARDS WINNERS. JEAN HAS BEEN PRESIDENT OF THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY FOR THE PAST SEVEN YEARS, VOLUNTEERS AT THE ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR AND IS HEAVILY INVOLVED IN HER CHURCH. RON IS A BOARD MEMBER OF THE WARROAD HISTORICAL SOCIETY, A MEMBER OF ROSEAU ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE “OPERATION ROUNDUP” AND INVOLVED IN HIS CHURCH ALSO.
A memorial service for Penny Erickson of Roseau will take place on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Helgeson Funeral Home of Roseau at 2:00 pm with a visitation an hour prior. A visitation will also take place the night prior at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm.
