THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH NOW SAYS ROSEAU COUNTY HAS SIXTEEN CONFIRMED CASES OF CORONAVIRUS.
THAT’S TEN MORE THAN TWO WEEKS AGO.
ROSEAU COUNTY’S FIRST CONFIRMED COVID CASE WAS IN EARLY APRIL.
LAKE OF THE WOODS REMAINS THE ONLY MINNESOTA COUNTY WITHOUT A CONFIRMED CASE.

 

60 YEAR OLD MARTIN PLAISTED OF HIBBING WAS KILLED IN AN A-T-V CRASH SATURDAY AFTERNOON IN NASHWAUK TOWNSHIP IN ITASCA COUNTY.
PLAISTED WAS DRIVING IN A DITCH ALONG HIGHWAY 65, ROLLED OVER AND WAS TRAPPED BENEATH THE SUBMERGED A-T-V.

JOHN WYNNE, WHO WROTE THE GRANT, SAYS IT’S THE SECOND ROSEAU HAS RECEIVED IN THE PAST TEN YEARS.

 

ABSENTEE BALLOTING FOR THE AUGUST PRIMARY ELECTION STARTED JUST OVER A WEEK AGO IN MINNESOTA.
AT THIS POINT, ABSENTEE VOTERS WON’T NEED A WITNESS AS SECRETARY OF STATE STEVE SIMON IS WAIVING THAT REQUIREMENT.
THE MINNESOTA REPUBLICAN PARTY SAYS THE RULE IS A SAFEGUARD AGAINST VOTER FRAUD.

THE AUGUST PRIMARY BALLOT INCLUDES THREE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES FOR THE MINNESOTA HOUSE DISTRICT 1A SEAT, BEING VACATED BY THE RETIREMENT OF DAN FABIAN.
THOSE THREE CANDIDATES ARE JOHN BURKEL OF BADGER, DAVID LION OF THIEF RIVER FALLS AND BRIAN MEEHAN OF ROSEAU.
