ATV CRASHES IN MINNESOTA HAVE ALREADY CLAIMED 14 LIVES THIS YEAR; WHILE LAST YEAR SAW ONLY 15 DEATHS FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR. A REGIONAL TRAINING OFFICER WITH THE MINNESOTA DNR SAYS A COMMON THEME IS A LACK OF SAFETY TRAINING AND MANY OF THE OPERATORS DID NOT HAVE THEIR SAFETY CERTIFICATE. THAT TRAINING IS REQUIRED FOR ALL RIDERS 12 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER THAT WERE BORN BEGINNING IN 1987. THEY REMIND EVERYONE OF HELMET RULES AND OPERATING ONLY ON DESIGNATED TRAILS.

THERE WERE TORNADO WARNINGS ISSUED IN PARTS OF NORTHWEST MINNESOTA WITH STRONG STORMS LAST WEEK, ALTHOUGH NO CONFIRMED TORNADO CAME OUT OF THAT. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE TOUCHDOWNS ACROSS THE NORTHERN PART OF THE STATE IN CARLTON, AITKIN COUNTIES AND IN THE BRAINERD LAKES AREA.

THERE WILL BE QUESTIONS THIS FALL FOR VOTERS IN GRYGLA REGARDING A SCHOOL REFERENDUM. THE THREE QUESTIONS WILL ON RENEWING THE CAPITAL PROJECT LEVY AT $156,000, REVOKING THE EXISTING OPERATING REFERENDUM AND REPLACING IT WITH A NEW PER PUPIL AMOUNT, AND ADDING AN ADDITIONAL $100,000 TO THE CAPITAL PROJECT LEVY. THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE DISTRICT EXPLAINED A TAX IMPACT WOULD AN ANNUAL INCREASE OF $1,100 FOR A HOUSE VALUED AT $150,000.

FROM THE ROSEAU TIMES REGION, MICHAEL DAIGLE OF ROSEAU IS FACING FIVE FELONY CHARGES RELATED TO DRUGS, THREATS OF VIOLENCE, AND POSSESSION OF A STOLEN GUN. HE WAS ARRESTED JUNE 10. POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE ICON APARTMENT COMPLEX IN WARROAD, AFTER HIS GIRLFRIEND CALLED TO REPORT THREATS.

A memorial service for Billy E. Mosher of Baudette, MN will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 2:00PM at Wabanica Lutheran Church in Baudette, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Wabanica Cemetery
Billy passed away at the age of 90.

A celebration of life for John Beckel will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baudette on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 11:00 am with a visitation an hour prior.
