FORTY YEAR OLD ALICIA LEWIS WAS CITED FOR SPEEDING AND HAVING ALCOHOL IN HER SYSTEM WHILE DRIVING A GREENBUSH/MIDDLE RIVER SCHOOL BUS YESTERDAY MORNING.
LEWIS WAS PULLED OVER YESTERDAY IN BARTO TOWNSHIP, NORTH OF GREENBUSH.
SHE HADN’T MADE HER FIRST STOP, AND THERE WERE NO KIDS ON THE BUS.

 

THE ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA DEPARTMENT PRESENTS THE PLAY “BEDTIME STORIES (AS TOLD BY DAD) (WHO REALLY MESSED THEM UP) SUNDAY AFTERNOON (4 PM) AT THE ROSEAU SCHOOL THEATRE.
THE PERFORMANCE IS FREE.

 

AUDUBON MINNESOTA AND THE MINNESOTA LAND TRUST ARE LOOKING FOR LANDOWNERS IN SIX NORTHWESTERN MINNESOTA COUNTIES (INCLUDING ROSEAU) WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN SELLING PERMANENT CONSERVATION EASEMENTS.
THE MINNESOTA LAND TRUST WOULD USE FUNDING FROM THE STATE’S OUTDOOR HERITAGE FUND TO PURCHASE THOSE EASEMENTS, WHICH ARE BINDING ON ALL FUTURE OWNERS OF THE LAND.

 

THE GRAND FORKS HERALD REPORTS WHITETAIL DEER CAME THROUGH THE WINTER IN RELATIVELY GOOD SHAPE. MINNESOTA D.N.R. NORTHWEST WILDLIFE SUPERVISOR JOHN WILLIAMS TELLS THE HERALD THAT WINTER DEER MORTALITY IN THIS PART OF THE STATE WAS NOT SIGNIFICANT.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MARK BROBST OF GRYGLA ARE TOMORROW AFTERNOON AT TWO AT GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH IN GRYGLA. VISITATION IS THIS EVENING (5-7 PM) AT THE CHURCH.

DAVID GLENNEN WAS 59.

 

A COTTAGE FOOD PRODUCER CLASS, FOR PEOPLE WHO MAKE AND SELL HOMEMADE BAKED GOODS, HOME-CANNED FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, JAMS AND JELLIES AND OTHER FOOD PRODUCTS IS JUNE 19TH AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA/ CROOKSTON.
IT’LL BE TAUGHT BY UNIVERSITY of MINNESOTA EXTENSION.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, THIS WEEK, APPROVED BILLS WHICH INCLUDED A SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR PAYMENT TO THE STATE OF MINNESOTA FOR A RE-AUDIT OF THE COUNTY’S 2015 AUDIT,
ORDERED BY FORMER STATE AUDITOR REBECCA OTTO.
ROSEAU WAS ONE OF A NUMBER OF NORTHWESTERN MINNESOTA COUNTIES WHICH WERE RE-AUDITED BY THE STATE. THE RE-AUDIT IN ROSEAU COUNTY FOUND NO SUBSTANTIVE DISCREPANCIES IN THE COUNTY’S BOOKS.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD, EARLIER THIS MONTH, SENT SURVEYS TO DISTRICT RESIDENTS ON A PROPOSED BUILDING OR RENOVATION PROJECT AT ROSEAU HIGH SCHOOL.
RESIDENTS WERE ASKED WHETHER THEY SUPPORT THE PROJECT, AND AT WHAT SPENDING LEVEL.
STU McFARLANE, A FORMER SCHOOL BOARD CHAIR AND A MEMBER OF THE TASK FORCE THAT DEVELOPED THE PLANS FOR THE PROPOSED WORK, SAYS THE WISCONSIN COMPANY DOING THE SURVEY CALLS IT AN EXCELLENT PREDICTOR OF WHETHER A REFERENDUM WILL PASS.
THE SCHOOL BOARD EXPECTS TO HEAR RESULTS FROM THE SURVEY IN JUNE.

 

THE MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE CONTINUES TO WRESTLE WITH TAX AND SPENDING DIFFERENCES AS THEY APPROACH A MONDAY END OF SESSION DEADLINE.
THE ASSOCIATION OF MINNESOTA COUNTIES HAS AGAIN THIS YEAR BEEN ASKING THE STATE FOR FINANCIAL HELP IN A NUMBER OF AREAS.

 

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, EARLIER THIS MONTH, ACCEPTED A TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS NORTHWEST MINNESOTA ARTS COUNCIL GRANT – WHICH WILL BE USED FOR A METAL ARCHWAY AT GILBERTSON BASEBALL FIELD.
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ARCH WILL BE DONE BY SUE SUESS AND JOEL MILLER.

 

THE FINAL WEEKEND FOR THE WARROAD SUMMER THEATRE SPRING DINNER SHOW, CALLED “BREAKING AND ENTERING”, STARTS TOMORROW AT THE WARROAD AMERICAN LEGION.

 

THE 2019 ROSEAU ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME CLASS INCLUDES LONGTIME RAMS WRESTLING COACH JEFF OLSEN; FORMER SOFTBALL, HOCKEY AND FOOTBALL COACH JEFF OLSON; 1976 U.S. OLYMPIC HOCKEY PLAYERS ROBBIE HARRIS AND GARY ROSS; FORMER RAMS AND UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA HOCKEY CAPTAIN MARY LOKEN; AND FORMER ROSEAU AND UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN BASEBALL AND HOCKEY PLAYER TODD HEDLUND.
THE 1999 RAMS BOYS HOCKEY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM WILL ALSO BE INDUCTED AT AN OCTOBER 6TH CEREMONY AT THE ROSEAU SCHOOL THEATRE.
