MINNESOTA CHILD CARE PROVIDERS HAVE BEGUN APPLYING FOR MONTHLY DIRECT PAYMENTS TO STABILIZE THEIR BUSINESSES AS PART OF A $300 MILLION STATE GRANT PROGRAM THAT WILL LAST THROUGH JUNE OF 2023. THE FUNDING COMES FROM THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN. ANOTHER CHANGE STARTING IN NOVEMBER WILL BE A HIGHER REIMBURSEMENT RATE FOR THE CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM THAT CURRENTLY ASSISTS 15,000 LOW INCOME FAMILIES HAVE ACCESS TO CHILD CARE.
THE RED LAKE NATION IS REQUIRING THAT ALL PEOPLE WHO COME TO THE RESERVATION FOR WORK OR OTHER BUSINESS PURPOSES BE VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19 OR SHOW WEEKLY TEST RESULTS. NOW, ONE WISCONSIN TRIBE IS SUING THE STATE IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THIS YEAR’S HUNT.

THE STATE OF MINNESOTA’S DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY WILL RENEW A LEASE AGREEMENT AT THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER, STARTING IN JANUARY, AS D.P.S. BEGINS RE-OPENING DRIVER EXAM STATIONS; ALTHOUGH THERE’S STILL NO GUARANTEE TESTING WILL RESUME IN ROSEAU.
