IN A 2024 RECAP, SUPER ONE FOODS SAYS THEY RAISED MORE $700,000 ACROSS THEIR LOCATIONS THROUGH PIN PAD DONATIONS AS CUSTOMERS CHECK OUT AT REGISTERS. THOSE DONATIONS GO BACK IN MANY CASES TO LOCAL CAUSES. THE ROSEAU AMERICAN LEGION AND THE ALS FOUNDATION WERE A COUPLE OF GROUPS AIDED BY THAT EFFORT. THEY ALSO SAID MORE THAN 73,000 POUNDS OF FOOD WAS DONATED TO LOCAL FOOD SHELVES DURING THE YEAR.

A Mass of Christian burial for Edwina M. Lasneski of Roseau, MN will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseau, MN. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Roseau, MN.
Edwina passed away at the age of 87.

TWO STORES IN THE COLUMBIA MALL IN GRAND FORKS WILL BE CLOSING IN JANUARY, LEADING TO TWO MORE VACANT STORE FRONTS. AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFTTERS WILL CLOSE ON JANUARY 19 AND TRADEHOME SHOES WILL CLOSE ON JANUARY 25. AMERICAN EAGLE MANAGER NOTED THAT BUSINESS REMAINS STRONG BUT THERE’S A DISPUTE WITH MALL MANAGEMENT OVER REPAIRS AND UPKEEP, WHILE THE TRADEHOME MANAGER COULD NOT ARGUE WITH THE FACT THAT BUSINESS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY DECLINED AT THAT LOCATION.

A 3 1/2 YEAR OLD CHILD DIED FROM AN ACCIDENTAL SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT THAT OCCURRED IN OTTERTAIL COUNTY ON SUNDAY EVENING. IT HAPPENED IN OAK VALLEY TOWNSHIP, SOUTHEAST OF DEER RIVER. IT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
