A BRIDGE PROJECT ON COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 13 EAST OF SALOL HAS THAT ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC, FROM HIGHWAY 11 SOUTH TO COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 12. A DETOUR WILL BE USING COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 9, WEST OF SALOL. THE ROAD CLOSURE IS EXPECTED TO LAST INTO AUGUST.

AREA CONSERVATION OFFICER REPORTS FOR THE PAST WEEK SHOW A SLEW OF TYPICAL VIOLATIONS FOR ANGLERS INCLUDING OVER-LIMITS, ILLEGAL LENGTH FISH. THE PUBLIC IS ALSO REMINDED TO LEAVE BABY WILDLIFE UNDISTURBED, AND SOME NUISANCE BEAR CALLS WERE DEALT WITH.
A SMALL TOWN NEWSPAPER IN DRAYTON, NORTH DAKOTA HAS FOUND A BUYER. THE VALLEY NEWS & VIEWS HAS BEEN BOUGHT BY BOB AND DIANE SIMMONS, WHO ALSO OWN SIMMONS MULTIMEDIA STATIONS AND BORDERLAND PRESS. THE JUNE 16 EDITION WILL BE THE FIRST UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP. OUTGOING OWNERSHIP HAD ANNOUNCED ON MAY 5 THAT THE JUNE 2 ISSUE WOULD BE THE LAST IF A BUYER WAS NOT FOUND.
