MANY VETERANS WILL NOW BE ABLE TO ENROLL DIRECTLY IN VA HEALTH CARE, WITHOUT FIRST HAVING TO APPLY FOR VA BENEFITS. THIS COULD GIVE THOSE QUALIFYING VETERANS ACCESS TO VA HEALTH CARE UP TO EIGHT YEARS EARLIER.
YESTERDAY, THE EAST GRAND FORKS SCHOOL BOARD APPROVED THE HIRE OF KEVIN GROVER FOR SUPERINTENDENT. GROVER HAS BEEN SUPERINTENDENT OF INTERNATIONAL FALLS SCHOOLS FOR 10 YEARS AND HAS BEEN IN THAT DISTRICT FOR HIS ENTIRE 26 YEAR CAREER.
AT A FEBRAURY WARROAD CITY COUNCIL MEETING, THEY UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED IMPOSING A MORATORIUM ON CANNABIS BUSINESSES AND TO REGULATE PUBLIC USE UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2025 TO GIVE THEM TIME TO RESEARCH AND DEVELOP REGULATIONS. FOR THE MOST PART, CANNABIS BUSINESSES STATEWIDE, OUTSIDE OF TRIBAL LANDS, WILL NOT BE LICENSED AND OPERATE UNTIL NEXT YEAR.
THINGS WERE QUIET FOR THE WEEK IN AREA CONSERVATION OFFICER REPORTS, WITH NOTHING MORE THAN TYPICAL ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS TAKEN.
THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD MEETS IN REGULAR SESSION THIS MORNING.
THE FOUR SEASONS SENIOR CENTER IN ROSEAU IS HOLDING A BAKED POTATO BAR FUNDRAISER ON FRIDAY FROM 5-7 PM. THEY’LL HAVE BARS AND BEVERAGES TO GO ALONG WITH THE MEAL. THAT IS FOR A FREEWILL DONATION.
MANY AREA TOWNSHIPS WILL HOLD THEIR ANNUAL MEETINGS TODAY AND HOLD THE ELECTION OF TOWN OFFICERS.
A Memorial Service for David Rinde of Roseau will take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau at 2:00 pm with at visitation an hour prior. Interment will be held at Roselund Cemetery.
