THEIR ANNUAL REPORT SAYS THE ENTERPRISE LOAN FUND OFFERED MORE THAN NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS IN LOANS TO NEW AND EXPANDING BUSINESSES, INCLUDING A LOAN TO THE LAKE OF THE WOODS BREWING COMPANY’S EXPANSION TO WARROAD. TWIN CITIES SONGWRITER ALEX FRECON RELEASED A SONG AND VIDEO LAST YEAR CALLED “I’M FROM MINNESOTA”, WHICH REFERENCES MANY OF THE STATE’S STEREOTYPES. FRECON SAYS HE WROTE THE SONG IN RESPONSE TO HIS COLLEGE CLASSMATES. THE LYRICS INCLUDE THE LINE “STRANGERS ALWAYS WAVE LIKE THEY KNOW YA”.
