THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, LAST NIGHT, AGREED TO OPEN PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS FRIDAY THIS WEEK.
THOSE PARKS WILL BE SIGNED “USE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING”.
CITY STAFF WILL BE DOING SOME SANITATION OF THE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT, BUT THE CITY IS RECOMMENDING PEOPLE BRING THEIR OWN HAND SANITIZER FOR USE BEFORE AND AFTER USING THAT EQUIPMENT.

CITY SUPERINTENDENT DAVID DROWN SAID 2020 STREET PROJECTS ARE UNDERWAY, WITH ROADS MILLED UP LAST WEEK; AND COMPLETION EXPECTED WITHIN WEEKS.

 

THERE HAVE BEEN 95 COVID-19 TESTS DONE TO THIS POINT IN ROSEAU COUNTY, AND STILL JUST ONE CONFIRMED POSITIVE CASE.
THERE HAVE BEEN ABOUT FIFTY ANTIBODY TESTS GIVEN, TO DETERMINE WHETHER THAT PERSON HAS HAD CORONAVIRUS.
FIVE OF THOSE WERE POSITIVE, ALL FROM THE SAME FAMILY OF THE PREVIOUS CONFIRMED CASE OF THE VIRUS.

 

FOUR TOWNSHIPS IN ROSEAU COUNTY (JADIS, LAKE, HEREIM AND MALUNG) HAVE DECIDED TO GO TO MAIL BALLOTING FOR THE AUGUST PRIMARY AND NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTIONS,
DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS FOR THEIR ELECTION JUDGES AND THEIR VOTERS.
THERE ARE FIVE OTHER TOWNSHIPS WHO HAVE THE OPTION, AND THE CITY OF BADGER.
COUNTY AUDITOR MARTIE MONSRUD SAYS THEY MUST MAKE A DECISION BY MONDAY.

 

THE PERSONAL FINANCE WEBSITE WalletHub SAYS MINNESOTA IS THE FOURTH BEST STATES FOR NURSES, BASED ON THINGS LIKE SALARY AND HEALTH CARE FACILITIES PER CAPITA.
THE TOP THREE, ACCORDING TO THE WEBSITE, ARE OREGON, WASHINGTON AND NEW MEXICO.
NORTH DAKOTA IS 17TH.
THE BOTTOM THREE ARE NEW YORK, LOUISIANA AND HAWAII.

 

NEARLY EIGHTY PERCENT OF THE COVID-19 FATALITIES IN MINNESOTA HAVE HAPPENED AT LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES;
BUT STATE OFFICIALS SAY MANY OF THOSE CENTERS HAVE KEPT THE CORONAVIRUS IN CHECK.

OLSON WAS DRIVING A PICKUP THAT WAS HIT BY A DUMP TRUCK DRIVEN BY 28 YEAR OLD GREGGORY DOBMEIER OF KELLIHER.
