THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD, THIS WEEK, APPROVED THE HIRE OF SHARON GRAFSTROM AS A LONGTERM SOCIAL STUDIES SUBSTITUTE TEACHER, FOR DOUG BOROWICZ. THAT LONGTERM SUB JOB WILL GO AT LEAST THROUGH DECEMBER.
THE SCHOOL DENIED A LEAVE OF ABSENCE REQUEST FROM INDUSTRIAL TECH TEACHER JESSE JOHNSTON, WHO HAD ASKED TO BE GRANTED LEAVE THROUGH SEPTEMBER.

 

THE RED RIVER FARM NETWORK REPORTS THE ESTIMATED SOYBEAN PRODUCTION IN THE UNITED STATES THIS YEAR WILL BE THREE-POINT-SIX BILLION BUSHELS,
WITH SOYBEAN ACRES DOWN THREE-POINT-FOUR MILLION FROM A JUNE REPORT.
THERE WERE LARGE REDUCTIONS IN SOYBEANS IN OHIO AND SOUTH DAKOTA, AND THOSE STATES ACCOUNT FOR ABOUT HALF THE NATIONAL PRODUCTION OF THAT CROP.

AARP/ MINNESOTA HAS ANNOUNCED IT’S FIFTY OVER FIFTY HONOREES. THAT LIST INCLUDES FIFTY MINNESOTANS OVER THE AGE OF FIFTY WHO MAKE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THEIR COMMUNITIES. JUDGE PAUL BENSHOOF OF BEMIDJI WAS HONORED FOR, AMONG OTHER THINGS, HELPING CREATE A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COURT IN BELTRAMI COUNTY. ROSEAU COUNTY HAS SINCE ADDED A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COURT.
