ANI PHARMACEUTICALS IS ADDING HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVE MATTHEW J. LEONARD TO IT’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THE COMPANY IS COMING OFF OF RECORD NUMBERS IN THE THE LAST QUARTER. HE BRINGS WITH HIM 35 YEARS IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY.
MADD, THE MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING ORGANIZATION, IS TEAMING UP WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT STATE WIDE FOR WHAT THEY CALL “SATURATION SATURDAY”, AN EFFORT TO PUT THE FOCUS ON DRUNK DRIVING AHEAD OF ONE FINAL SUMMER HOLIDAY WEEKEND, LABOR DAY. THE CAMPAIGN STARTS THIS SATURDAY AND RUNS THROUGH LABOR DAY. THEY HAVE NUMBER THAT SHOW SOME IN THIS COUNTRY IS KILLED OR INJURED BY A DRUNK DRIVER EVERY 79 SECONDS.
HERSHEY’S COMPANY SAYS THEY WILL BE CLOSING THE FLAGSHIP FACILITY FOR A BELOVED MIDWESTERN SNACK. THEY CITED THE PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS OF THE FACILITY IN VELVA, NORTH DAKOTA WHERE DOT’S PRETZELS GOT THEIR START. THERE ARE 27 EMPLOYEES INVOLVED, AND THEY WILL ALL BE OFFERED OPTIONS OF RELOCATION TO ANOTHER PLANT, OR A SEVERANCE PACKAGE.
L & M FLEET SUPPLY SAYS THEY ARE PLANNING A LARGE DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN GRAND RAPIDS. IT WOULD BE A 200,000 SQUARE FOOT FACILITY AT A COST OF $50 MILLION. THAT CHAIN HAS 12 BRICK AND MORTAR LOCATIONS ACROSS NORTHERN MINNESOTA, WISCONSIN, AND MICHIGAN.
A NUMBER OF INSTANCES OF A COUGAR SHOWING UP IN SECURITY CAMERAS AND DOORBELL CAMERAS IN THE DULUTH AREA ARE MAKING HEADLINES. THEY FOOTAGE CLIPS RANGE FROM JUST OUTSIDE OF DULUTH ALONG THE HIGHWAY 61 EXPRESSWAY INTO THE KENWOOD NEIGHBORHOODS. DNR OFFICIALS SAY THEY SEE A COUPLE OF THESE FROM THE AREA ALMOST EVERY YEAR, BUT THERE’S LITTLE EVIDENCE TO SHOW THE CATS ARE MAKING THE AREA HOME, MORE SO JUST PASSING THROUGH.
A 4TH STATE VETERAN’S CEMETERY WAS DEDICATED OVER THE WEEKEND IN REDWOOD FALLS. IT JOINS OTHERS IN LITTLE FALLS, PRESTON, AND DULUTH. ROUGHLY 500 WERE IN ATTENDANCE WITH BOTH GOVERNOR WALZ AND SENATOR KLOBUCHAR SERVING AS GUEST SPEAKERS.
CONSERVATION OFFICERS ARE KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON BEAR BAITING AS A FALL HUNTING SEASON APPROACHES. SOME VIOLATIONS WERE REPORTED OUT OF THE THIEF RIVER FALLS OFFICE. OFFICER HEUNER WAS BUSY WITH FIELD TRAINING OF A CONSERVATION OFFICER CANDIDATE SEAN CANNON. THEY ALSO INVESTIGATED A DEER THAT POSSIBLY SHOT OUT OF SEASON SOUTH OF WARROAD.
A Funeral Service for Willis Bitter of Baudette will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Wabanica Lutheran Church in Baudette at 1:00pm with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will be held at Elm Park Cemetery.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Wesolowski of Warroad will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Warroad with a visitation an hour prior.
