RECENTLY, GOVERNOR TIM WALZ PERSONALLY REACHED OUT TO CEO OF ALTOZ, DENNIS BRAZIER, THANKING HIM FOR THE COMPANIES INVESTMENT IN MINNESOTA. THE COMPANY RECENTLY EXPANDED IT’S FACILITY IN RED LAKE FALLS. WALZ MENTIONED HOW JOB CREATION HAS A RIPPLE EFFECT INTO COMMUNITY GROWTH AND EDUCATION IMPROVEMENTS.
AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, THERE WAS MUCH TALK ABOUT SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS AND HOW THEY WERE BEING REMOVED FROM SCHOOLS DUE TO CONCERN OVER A NEW LAW THAT CREATED A GRAY AREA ON WHAT LEVEL OF FORCE THOSE OFFICERS COULD USE DURING INCIDENTS. EAST GRAND FORKS SCHOOLS SAY THEY COULD BE BRINGING THOSE OFFICERS BACK BY THE END OF JANUARY. THEY SAY NOTHING IN THE LAW HAS CHANGED, BUT DISCUSSION HAS MADE THINGS FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE AND THEY STILL FEEL THAT HAVING THE OFFICERS OUTWEIGHS THE CONCERNS.
THE FARGO MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY BOARD VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO MOVE AHEAD WITH A PLANNED PARKING RAMP FOR HECTOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT THAT WILL HAVE APPROXIMATELY 1000 STALLS. IT HAS AN EXPECTED COST OF $43 MILLION WITH A CONNECTING SKYWAY COSTING $4 MILLION. THE BOARD HAS ALREADY PASSED A $155 MILLION PROJECT THAT WILL ADD FOUR MORE GATES TO REMODELED TERMINAL, NEARLY DOUBLING THE AIRPORTS SIZE.
YESTERDAY’S STORY ABOUT A WOMAN BEING RAPED AND A MAN BEATEN IN EVELETH NOW HAS MORE DETAILS, AS AUTHORITIES SAY THE THREE MEN INVOLVED ARE THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF AN IRON RANGE CHAPTER OF THE HELLS ANGELS MOTORCYCLE CLUB. THEY ALLEGEDLY KIDNAPPED A MAN AND TOOK HIM TO THE HELLS ANGELS CLUBHOUSE AND BEAT HIM FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE HE ESCAPED THE FOLLOWING DAY. A WOMAN WAS ALSO ALLEGEDLY SEXUALLY ASSAULTED BY TWO OF THE MEN. IT APPARENTLY STEMS FROM THE CLUB WARNING THE MAN TO STOP ASSOCIATING WITH THE WOMAN, BUT HE REFUSED.
A Canadian man who allegedly helped more than a dozen young people across the province of Ontario kill themselves by mailing them poison has been charged with 14 counts of second degree murder, police said on Tuesday. Kenneth Law, 58, had previously been charged with 14 counts of counseling or aiding suicide.
Police said Law posted around 160 packages of sodium nitrite to people in Canada and also sent at least 1,200 packages to addresses in more than 40 countries.
The victims ranged in age from 16 to 36, and authorities did not know if anyone outside of Canada had died as a result of the materials that were mailed to them.

A PRAYER SERVICE FOR MIKE W. ERICKSON WILL BE HELD NEXT FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15, AT 2 PM AT RIVERSIDE LUTHERAN CHURCH IN WANNASKA. MIKE PASSED AWAY ON NOVEMBER 25.
