TODAY IS UGLY SWEATER DAY AT THE ROSEAU SCHOOL.

ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE CHLOE  JOHNSON SAID A NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOOD DRIVE  RAISED MORE THAN TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS,  AND THE  THIRTY-PLUS  N.H.S. STUDENTS DELIVERED FIVE HUNDRED ITEMS TO THE ROSEAU FOOD SHELF THIS WEEK.

 

THE MINNESOTA  D.N.R.  WILL USE A NEW WORKSHOP FORMAT FOR SMALL GROUP DISCUSSIONS ON DEER POPULATION GOALS AT SEVERAL MEETINGS EARLY NEXT YEAR.

THOSE MEETINGS ARE JANUARY 30TH AND FEBRUARY 26TH IN THIEF RIVER FALLS;

AND JANUARY 29TH AND FEBRUARY 27TH  IN INTERNATIONAL FALLS.

 

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, NEXT WEEK,  WILL FINALIZE IT’S  2020 PROPERTY TAX LEVY AND BUDGET.

THE COUNTY IS CONSIDERING A THREE PERCENT TAX INCREASE FOR NEXT YEAR,  WHICH WILL ACTUALLY LOWER TAXES FOR SOME PROPERTY CLASSIFICATIONS,  BASED ON ESTIMATED MARKET VALUES.

AND  RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES PARTICULARLY;  THAT’S  ROSEAU COUNTY ASSESSOR LIZ LUND.

 

THE NATIONAL AUDUBON SOCIETY’S CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNTS ARE UNDERWAY,  WITH ONE TODAY AT THE AGASSIZ NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE NEAR NEWFOLDEN ….. ANOTHER IN ROSEAU JANUARY 4TH …..  AND ONE IN BAUDETTE JANUARY  5TH.

ROB SCHULTZ, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR AUDUBON MINNESOTA,    SAYS BIRDS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE CLIMATE CHANGE CONVERSATION.

STATEWIDE,  THERE WERE NINETEEN HUNDRED PARTICIPANTS IN LAST YEAR’S CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNTS.

 

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL MEETS IN SPECIAL SESSION TOMORROW EVENING TO DISCUSS LABOR NEGOTIATIONS.

 

ROSEAU  4TH,  5TH  AND  6TH  GRADERS PERFORM THEIR CHRISTMAS PROGRAMS TOMORROW  (Ten and Two)  AT THE SCHOOL THEATRE.

 

‘WIC’  CLINICS ARE TODAY AND TOMORROW AT LIFECARE MEDICAL CENTER IN ROSEAU.

 

NORTHWEST COMMUNITY ACTION’S  LITTLE BROTHER/ LITTLE SISTER PROGRAM HAS RECEIVED STATE GRANT FUNDING  TO KEEP THAT PROGRAM SUSTAINABLE.

MADELINE WAAGE LEADS THE  “LITTLES”  PROGRAM FOR THE BADGER-BASED COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY.

ROSEAU COUNTY APPROPRIATED FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO KEEP THAT PROGRAM IN PLACE THROUGH  2019.
