SOME MORE TOUGH NEWS FOR SNOWMOBILE RACING FANS AS THE DECISION HAS BEEN MADE TO CANCEL THIS YEAR’S GOODRIDGE-GRYGLA I-500 RACE DUE TO A LACK OF SNOW COVER FOR THE COURSE. THEY ALSO LOOKED AT A FUTURE FORECAST AND SAW NO SIGNIFICANT CHANCES OF PICKING UP MAJOR AMOUNTS OF SNOW. THEY SAID THEY ALSO NEED TO CONSIDER THE DAMAGE THAT COULD BE DONE TO THOSE TRAILS IF THEY PROCEEDED TO RACE WITH THE LOWER SNOW COVERAGE AMOUNT. THEY ARE LOOKING TO FILL THAT SPOT ON THE SCHEDULE WITH ANOTHER RACE.

CURRENT AND FORMER NORTHLAND COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE ATHLETES WILL GATHER THIS SATURDAY FOR AN EVENT TO COMMEMORATE 50 YEARS OF WOMEN’S ATHLETICS AT THE COLLEGE. THEY HAVE A WOMEN’S-MEN’S BASKETBALL DOUBLE HEADER THAT BEGINS AT 1:00, WITH ALUMNI HONORED AT HALFTIME OF EACH GAME. THEERE WILL BE OTHER SOCIAL GATHERINGS AND EVENTS HELD THROUGH THE DAY.
