THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  YESTERDAY,  APPROVED ADVERTISING TO HIRE A BUILDING MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR TO SUCCEED LONGTIME BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS HEAD LENNY JOHNSON.

JOHNSON IS RETIRING AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR CUSTODIAL SERVICES AT COUNTY FACILITIES IN ROSEAU.

 

THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY HAS BEEN IN ROSEAU COUNTY THIS MONTH,  DOING A PRELIMINARY DAMAGE ASSESSMENT RELATED TO EXCESSIVE RAINFALL FROM LATE SEPTEMBER THROUGH MID-OCTOBER.

THE PRELIMINARY TOTAL IS  886 THOUSAND DOLLARS;   625 THOUSAND OF THOSE DOLLARS WOULD BE FOR WORK DONE ACROSS THE COUNTY.

 

THE ROSEAU HOLIDAY FANTASY DRAWINGS, BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE ROSEAU CIVIC & COMMERCE, WILL RETURN FOR THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. THOSE SLIPS WILL BEGIN BEING HANDED OUT ON BLACK FRIDAY, WITH THE FIRST OF 5 DRAWINGS NEXT THURSDAY.

 

THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE CITY OF CROOKSTON HAS RESIGNED, THAT’S TWO MONTHS AFTER THE MAYOR CROOKSTON WALKED AWAY FROM THAT JOB. SHANNON STASSEN’S LAST DAY ON THE JOB WILL BE DECEMBER 10TH. HE WASN’T ABLE TO BE REACHED BY THE GRAND FORKS HERALD FOR ADDITIONAL COMMENT, BUT HIS SEVERANCE AGREEMENT SAYS HIS RESIGNATION IS VOLUNTARY.

 

THE THIEF RIVER FALLS AIRPORT HAS FOUR ESSENTIAL AIR SERVICE BIDS BEGIN REVIEWED TO SEE IF THEY WILL HAVE A NEW SERVICE PROVIDER AT THAT AIRPORT. THE CURRENT PROVIDER BOUTIQUE AIR IS ONE OF THE FOUR, WITH AIR CHOICE ONE, DENVER AIR CONNECTION, SOUTHERN AIRWAYS EXPRESS THE OTHER 3. MANAGER JOE HEDRICK SAYS THE AIRPORT CAN SUPPLY A REPORT ON THEIR OPINIONS, BUT THE DECISION ULTIMATELY LIES WITH THE US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.

 

ROSEAU COUNTY  FOUR-H  HAS  99 ADULT VOLUNTEERS,  INCLUDING NINETEEN NEW VOLUNTEERS.

THAT COMPARES WITH EIGHTY-SEVEN VOLUNTEERS EARLIER THIS YEAR,  AS THE CLUBS CONTINUE TO GROW.

 

THE BADGER BAPTIST CHURCH HOSTS IT’S THIRD ANNUAL FREE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER TOMORROW AFTERNOON          (3 PM)  AT THE BADGER COMMUNITY HALL.

 

THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD,   LAST WEEK,  HEARD THAT AN EMPLOYEE SHORTAGE IS CREATING A STAFFING ISSUE AT THE RAMS SPORTS CENTER.
