A REPORT SAYS THAT AT LEAST 26 MINNESOTANS DIED LAST YEAR AS THE RESULT OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WITH AT LEAST 17 KILLED BY AN INTIMATE PARTNER SO FAR IN 2022. OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH. THE VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROJECT IS ONE LOCAL ORGANIZATION THAT CAN BE REACHED FOR HELP.
THE GRAND FORKS HERALD HAS A STORY ON RICHARD LARSON, A MINNESOTA NATIVE THAT RECENTLY COMPLETED A HIKE FROM THE SOUTHERNMOST BUOY IN KEY WEST, FLORIDA TO THE NORTHERNMOST BUOY AT THE NORTHWEST ANGLE. HE ARRIVED HERE ON OCTOBER 2ND, AFTER LEAVING KEY WEST ON NOVEMBER 23RD OF LAST YEAR.
OCTOBER IS MANUFACTURING MONTH IN MINNESOTA, HIGHLIGHTING THE IMPORTANCE OF MANUFACTURING IN THE STATE’S ECONOMY. THE SECTOR ACCOUNTED FOR OVER 11% OF STATEWIDE EMPLOYMENT LAST YEAR, AND FEATURE WAGES THAT ARE 10% HIGHER THAN ACROSS ALL INDUSTRIES IN THE STATE.
