A funeral service for “Manny” Emanuel Stuart Rice will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau at 2:00PM. Visitation will be held on Wednesday before the service from 12-2PM. Interment will take place at Pinecreek Cemetery.
Emanuel “Manny” Stuart Rice was born February 8, 1984 in Roseau, MN to Stuart & Deborah (Puttbrese) Rice of Pinecreek, MN. Emanuel was baptized and confirmed at Pinecreek Lutheran Church. He attended school in Roseau and then received his GED.
Manny was proud of his 3 children: Hunter, Xander, and Eden Rice. Throughout the years he worked different jobs, such as custom combining, construction, being self-employed and most recently working at the Holiday Station in Roseau. He enjoyed helping people and had many hobbies, including bow hunting, fishing, cooking, eating, watching TV, visiting with people, coin & currency collecting and shopping. Manny liked to look for good deals, and buy, sell and trade items with people. He enjoyed garage sales & thrift stores, traveling when he got the chance, and working on vehicles, getting demo and bush cars ready. Manny had a big heart, a quirky sense of humor, and liked hearing a great joke.
Manny passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 7, 2024 from complications of his severe diabetes. He will be missed beyond words and was loved more than he knew. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his children Hunter, Xander and Eden Rice, parents Stuart & Deborah Rice, sisters Aris (Aaron) Gross and Kaeley Rice, niece Jaxie Welsh Rice, his nephew Averie Gross-Rice, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Manny is preceded in death by grandparents Stanley & Donna Rice, Albert Puttbrese and Ruby Jean Torgerson, his great-grandparents, cousins Bella Rice and Steven Puttbrese Jr., and an unborn child.
