Funeral services for Norbert Fast of Warroad, MN will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Warroad Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church; with interment at Silent City Cemetery in Roosevelt.
Norbert Gene Fast passed away at the Warroad Senior Living Center on Friday, October 11, 2019. Norbert was born on June 18, 1933 in Clyde, ND to Dave and Martha (Zabel) Fast. He graduated from Warroad High School in 1952.
He married Martha Harder on July 17, 1953 in Warroad, MN. They moved to International Falls, MN and he worked for Mawdo Paper Company and then Boise Cascade. He also contracted cement jobs, doing driveways and foundations. They lived there until 1990, moving to Dellwood Beach in Williams and then to Warroad in 1997.
Norbert was active in the Gideon Organization for ten years. He hunted big deer and fished big walleyes. He loved spending time with the family and being active in the church.
He is survived by the love of his life, Martha; sister Sylvia (Elvin); son Jonathan (Bridgett); daughter-in-law Gail Fast, grandchildren Wayne (Cindy) Fast, Craig Fast, Leslie Fast, Step-grandchildren Rocky Tesmer, Ben (Amy) Tesmer, 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Gene Fast; granddaughter Stephanie Nash; brother Wilbur (Marie).
