The Cities/Townships of: Badger, Barnett, Barto, Beaver, Cedarbend, Deer, Dewey, Dieter, Enstrom, Falun, Golden Valley, Grimstad, Hereim, Huss, Jadis, Lake, Laona, Lind, Malung, Mickinock, Moose, Nereson, Palmville, Pohlitz, Polonia, Poplar Grove, Reine, Roosevelt, Ross, Skagen, Soler, Spruce, Stafford, Stokes, Strathcona, and Unorganized Townships have elected the vote by Mail-Ballot procedures in statewide elections as authorized under Minnesota Statutes 204B.45.
For the 2020 statewide General election on November 3, 2020, Roseau County will be sending out non-forwardable ballots on or about September 28th, 2020 to each registered voter. Instructions for how-to-vote by Mail Ballot will be enclosed and must be followed completely. Ballots are non-forwardable, so if your address has changed you must re-register at your new residence.
Eligible voters not registered by September 28th, or registered voters wishing to receive their ballot at a temporary address, may contact the Roseau County Auditor’s Office by phone, mail or in person for an absentee ballot application.
The last day to pre-register for the General Election is October 13, 2020.
Ballots may be returned by mail, delivered in person, dropped off in the drop box located in front of the Roseau County Courthouse, or delivered by a designated agent to: Roseau County Auditor, 606 5th Avenue SW, Room 160, Roseau, MN 56751-1477. Ballots must be received no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted. Make sure to allow at least 5 to 7 business days if you are returning your ballot via mail. You may track the status of your mail ballot online at www.mnvotes.org
Mail ballots can be dropped off during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to the normal business hours, extended hours for mail ballot voting are:
Saturday, October 31, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Monday, November 2, 2020, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The polling place for all mail ballot precincts is the Roseau County Auditor’s Office. The polls will be open:
Tuesday, November 3, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
One OMNI ballot-marker (assisted voting device) is available.
All mail ballots will be counted at the Roseau County Courthouse after 8:00 p.m. on the respective election dates.
